Charity Auction:
A Message from Kevin Rubio
From StarWars.com:
In celebration of the 30th Anniversary of STAR WARS, I am auctioning
off a copy of my Dark Horse graphic novel Star Wars: Tag & Bink Were
Here, on e-bay's charity site -- "Mission Fish".
It is the story of two rebel pilots who avoid capture on board Princess
Leia's ship, the Rebel Blockade Runner, by disguising themselves as
stormtroopers. This leads them on an adventure through the galaxy
-- crossing paths
with every major character in the Star Wars universe, and affecting
the fate of all they encounter...
There have been several stories around various message board and in
our own forums that people who used a coupon code to order any of the
CIV exclusives would be getting letters that the 25% OFF would be taken
back and shipping applied to the orders that got free shipping.
Even though we had several staffers here who had placed orders with
the code call yesterday and all
of the answers came back that that there are no changes to the order
and none of them had any information about a "recall" on
the discount it appears today that is changed, below is the e-mail
that over 30 readers reporting getting in the last 15 minutes:

item was not eligible for use with that promotion.
To remedy this situation, we will remove the discount from this item,
apply any additional shipping charges that may apply, and ship your
order on June 11, 2007.

Review:
Vintage Series Snowtrooper
I’ll be honest: I don’t know the first
thing about discerning whether or not this figure is identical down to
the last detail with the Episode V Snowtrooper uniforms. But I
have to say that this latest incarnation of the Empire’s
winter wonderland ambassadors is a dang good looking figure. Proportions
are good. The detailing on the armor is first-rate, right down
to the notches and buttons on the chest plate and backpack. The
crinkles in the “vinyl” portion of the helmet appear lifelike
from an average viewing distance.... Click Below for the full

Review:
Salacious B. Crumb Creature Pack!
Well this one’s an interesting case because the
Salacious B. Crumb creature pack falls in a twilight zone between being
an accessory pack and a full-fledged 1/6 scale figure release. Comprised
of Crumb and three fellow palace denizens, the creatures in this pack
vary in size and design, but all amount to not much more than static
pose figures. Missed opportunities plague Salacious, but then the bendable
tongue and magnetic body features on Wol Cabashite are first-rate. A
very mixed bag this expansion pack is. And of course it’s meant
as a supplement to the much grander Jabba the Hutt and throne environment
combo.... Click

Demandi Launches
Star Wars Survey!
When the first Star Wars film was first shown at cinemas
30 years ago in 1977, it was impossible to imagine what a great impact and
success the film series would cause.
Three centuries later the George Lucas film series is quite simply legendary.
Fans throughout the world are today still watching the films, reading the
books, collecting figures and even going to Star Wars conventions.
The 30th anniversary of the popular culture phenomenon “Star Wars” is
reason enough for demandi to ask fans to air their point of view: Which of
the six films do fans consider to be the best? What influence has “Star
Wars “had on the science fiction genre in general? Which are the most
favourite characters? And how successful do the fans think the “Star
Wars” series (in planning) will be?
Caroline McCarthy,
Staff writer from CNET
News.com reports:
There are two sides to Star Wars, but it's not light versus dark or good
versus evil. Rather, it's the franchise's dual role as cinematic masterpiece
and geeky-but-still-cool pop culture milestone.
On one hand, there's the Star Wars that ranks high on the American Film
Institute's ubiquitious "Top 100" lists. The Star Wars franchise,
which marks its 30th anniversary Friday with celebrations to commemorate
the original release of Episode IV: A New Hope, has an appeal that's been
analyzed countless times over the decades. Typically, the conclusion is that
George Lucas' creation is one of those rare works of fiction that literally
has something for everyone.
But then there's the other Star Wars, the phenomenon that's the subject
of countless jokes, allusions and references in everything from episodes
of the cartoon sitcom Family Guy to endless us versus them ("them" usually
being Microsoft portrayed as the evil Empire) metaphors from tech executives...
We all know that the Clone Wars 3-D Format show is in production but is
there another? A new site www.talesofthenewrepublic.com shows
still shots from what appears to be another series. It could be a fan
with a lot of time and skill but most of the fans out there thinks it
may be the real deal. Hopefully we will get more info on it today as Celebration
4 continues!

News Update!!
The
Star Wars Celebration IV is finally here! If you're
lucky enough to go to the party, have fun and
remember to stop by the TFAW Booth (#325) and say hello.
If you're not able to make it to Celebration in L.A.,
we're throwing a little party of our own at
TFAW.com!
Gentle Giant had a great display, first we will start with what
we can't show you which is the Admiral Ackbar, Sandperson, and AT-TE
Driver Mini-Busts. The Ackbar and Sandperson looked like a final
produst where the AT-TE still was in the development stage, the Sandperson
sports a sniper rifle that looks to be about 10 inches long, very
cool pose. No photos were allowed of these items. They also have
a very cool Darth Maul on Sith Speeder in the same style of the Speeder
Bike and photos were not allowed of that one either but it looks
in scale with the Scout Trooper. There were also 3 new additions
to the Classics line and they were Queen Amidala, a Snowtrooper
and Hammerhead.

Could
it be True Again? New Movies?
We found this interesting article at News.com.au stating that tomorrow,
Lucas will have a big announcement? Is it true? I guess time will tell,
read
the full
article here and some of it below...
STAR WARS fans will sense a disturbance in the force amid rampant
rumours that a new movie set before the prequels is to be announced
in LA tomorrow.
The news of the "huge" announcement by Star Wars creator
George Lucas comes on the 30th anniversary of the first film.
Chris Brennan, a member of Star Walking Inc - the Australian Star
Wars appreciation society, is in LA for the offcial convention Celebration
IV at the Los Angeles Covention Centre.
He said the rumours sweeping the venue is that Lucas will announce
a new Star Wars movie is in the works.
Reports have been circling among fans and on the internet of a new
Star Wars movie or movies set before the recent prequels at the time
of Old Republic when the Jedi regained control of the galaxy from the
Dark Lords of the Sith.

is Yoda as a pensive, thoughtful teacher; the other is as a Jedi Master
ready for battle. Star Wars: Clone Wars and Celebration IV logos are
also included.
This exclusive is limited to just 250 pieces and is the only Fathead
produced using artwork from Cartoon Network’s Star Wars: Clone
Wars animated micro-series. Each wall graphic comes with a certificate
of authenticity and will be available for $119.
The Fathead will be on display and is only available for order at
the Fathead booth (#527) during Star Wars Celebration IV. All orders
will be packaged and shipped to the purchaser immediately after Celebration.
Click the Image below for a Full Size Image!
We also contacted FatHead directly to find out the
exact size and they were kind enough to get back to us and let us
know that the Yoda with lightsaber is 33” tall x 30” wide
(when in his hand – tip of saber to bottom of
image) and the "Thinking Yoda" is 30” tall x 24” wide
(width is end of ear to end of ear).
We finally have the authorization to release more info on the ElvisTrooper
Mini Bust and how you might be able to add it to you collection. This
is a one of a kind Mini Bust made by Gentle Giant Ltd that will be
exclusively up for a charity raffle at Star Wars Celebration IV. For
more detail on how the raffle works please stop by booth number 901
inside the exhibit hall of the LA convention Center. Proceeds go to
help in the fight against cancer. It's a great cause and a great little
collectable that someone will take home with them.

Hasbro
Wave 5, More Info?
A reader by the name of "Secret Sith" reports in with scans
of what he/she reports to be a new catalog where we see the breakdown
for Wave
5 (and the official name of the McQuarrie Figure, which is McQuarrie
Concept Leia Starkiller),
as well as, pictures of a some new clone commanders which will include
red, green, blue and yellow officers, as well as, an Episode 3 Commander
and a Darktrooper from Dark Forces in the Legends line. Some we already
knew, some is technically still
speculation but the images Secret Sith attached seem to be accurate.
At this time we have decided not to post the scans sent in by Secret
Sith (maybe we will later this week).

They were part of one of the biggest movies in history but almost
without exception the cast of "Star Wars" faded from view
after lighting up cinemas during the 1970-80s.
While George Lucas' intergalactic fairytale proved to be a launch
pad for the career of Harrison Ford, other prominent members of the
blockbuster franchise have not come close to enjoying Ford's iconic
status.
Mark Hamill, who played the boyish hero Luke Skywalker in all
three of the original films, appeared in numerous television series
and stage
plays and now is best-known as a voice-over actor for cartoons such
as "Batman".
But for Hamill, 55, "Star Wars" remains inescapable,
30 years after it first hit cinema screens on May 25 1977.
"I still see mothers in supermarkets who berate me because their
son has just blown his college fund on buying a replica light saber," he
told AFP. "People are insane. I will never come to terms with
it."...

Returns: The Write Stuff!
You have to hand it to LEGO, they know they aren't allowed to sell
minifigs straight to the consumer because of licensing issues, but
they manage to find every means possible to get them on the market
without looking like they are selling actual figures. They'll pitch
them as battlepacks, mini-sets, magnets, keychains, or writing instruments...but
we all know what it is we're really laying down our money for: mini-figs!
Anyway, a friend of mine gave me a couple of those LEGO Star Wars
pens as a graduation present. The second I opened them, I knew it
was destined for a Yodasnooze. Thanks, CM! -- Tresob Yr

GentleGiantLtd answers a few burning C4 Questions in the latest Blog Entry:
Our "Pre-Order for Pick-Up" time has ended for Star Wars
CIV, as some may have noticed. At our booth (901), we will have 2 different
lines. One will be for PRE-ORDER PICK UP ONLY; there will be no sales
in this line. We will have a separate line that will be for JUST SALES.
We will also have some of our other previously released Star Wars products
available for purchase at the show. We will only have stock of Star
Wars products for sale, not other licenses at this show. As we mentioned
before, Badges will be punched when you purchase the exclusives at
the show. Those who have placed a Pre-Order for Pick-Up will also have
their badges punched/marked, but it will be different from the regular
purchase line.
The quantity of product that we are holding back for the raffle purchase
for our PGM members will be up roughly 1 to 2 weeks after the end of
the show. An email and blog post will be sent out. At this time it
will only be the CIV Exclusive items; Commander Gree, Darth Malak and
Spirit of Yoda.
As a reminder for those that didn’t read the announcement
on StarWars.com last week, the Saturday of the convention at 2pm,
we will
be hosting the Slave Leia photo shoot in our booth (901) in front of
our Life-Size Jabba the Hutt.
In light of recent news, I want to assure our entire collector
base that Gentle Giant is not packing it in and going anywhere. Star
Wars
is still going strong here at Gentle Giant. We’ve got many new
items lined up for the next couple of years, some of which will be
shown at CIV for the first time and will be sure to be big fan favorites.
More news and announcements of exciting happenings at the Gentle Giant
booth at SW CIV will follow soon.

The
Force Among Us Update!
Jeff Roney will be interviewing Dan Madsen,
along with Cris and Courtney Macht, crew of the highly anticipated Star
Wars documentary, The Force Among Us. The interview will be recorded
live, and will take place on Saturday, May 19th at 9:00 AM Pacific Time.
Portions of the show will be classic interview style, and others will
be accepting questions from connected callers, as well as emails to roneyzone@gmail.com.
The interview is a continuation of the previous Tat TV Live Show (http://tfau.jrdonline.com).
On the May 19th episode, they will discuss behind-the-scenes stories
of the film, where to pre-order the DVD, and information concerning
the crew's involvement in the huge Star Wars Celebration 4 event in
Los Angeles May 24th to 28th. They will also give you tips from the
hosts, guests and call-in audience to make a visit to Celebration 4
the most memorable ever. There will be special guests and a segment
of the show when a Jedi Master and Sith Lord answer relationship questions.
It will be a jam-packed show with entertainment for everyone.
The Force Among Us is a Star Wars documentary film about Star Wars
fans, that shows how the reality of their fandom differs from the stereotypes
put forth in the media. For more information on the film, visit: http://theforceamongus.com.
Tat TV Live is the live call-in talk show hosted by Jeff Roney using
the TalkShoe.com interactive podcasting solution. The show is part
online Star Wars fan club, part Larry King Live, and part SNL. It is
information and entertainment all in one. Guests and audience members
may call in by ordinary telephone or Voice-Over-IP and participate
in the discussion, as well as share comments by text-based chat. The
show can be streamed live or downloaded as an mp3 podcast after recording
ends. Along with the fantastic guests and discussions, comedy always
finds its way onto the shows, as well. In recent weeks, Roney has received
very interesting calls from "Britney Spears", he has played
previously produced Star Wars parody sketches, and it is quickly becoming
apparent that anything can happen on these shows. For more information
on Tat TV Live, see http://swtalk.jrdonline.com/. For more information
on TalkShoe, see http://www.talkshoe.com.
We have started a Star Wars Sale, so spread the word! lol There are
many items on sale, so take a look at http://www.mostwantedcollectibles.com/star-wars-sale-c-35.html and see if anything catches your eye. MWC Bounty Credits apply to all
orders as well (unless noted otherwise in the product description).
Also, there has been a lot of hype around the Sideshow Adam Hughes
based Emma & Mary Jane Comiquettes and we just thought we'd point
out that we still have some of the mini Wonder Woman vs Serpents Statues
available. These are also based on Adam Hughes designs and looks great
as well!
The below image came into our mailbox today. Looks like the new
character to get the Koto treatment will be the Kotobukiya General
Grievous!

More
MR News!
Are you asking a million questions and feel like you just don't know
what is going on since Corgi and LFL have announced that their partnering
will be over on Dec. 31st 2007? Well thank goodness for Master Replica's
Customer Service Manager Amy! Over at the MR Forums, Amy has just revealed
that a message will be going out on Friday that explains that they
will still be having a party at Celebration IV even though they will
not have a booth there.Fear not as now the CIV exclusives will be
sold online with information on this pending a later time.
And again you have more questions! Like what will be released this
year since the ending of the license could effect their 2007
line-up. Well these are the confirmed items:
Mara Jade Lightsaber Limited Edition
Shadow Trooper Helmet (CS Exclusive)
Luke Ep. VI V2 Limited Edition
Boba Fett Helmet Limited Edition
Boba Fett Helmet Signature Edition
And as far as the Shadow Trooper Helmet goes - no more edition
size of just 100! No more raffle in store! It may be a slugfest
as today's
preorder for the Gree Helmet showed many collectors that
you still do have to work for your collectibles. But now the edition
size
is 500 (the same as Gree).
If you would like to ask Amy or Bryan some questions or read
for yourself what is posted then head on over to the MR
Forums here.

Store
Report!
Yodasnews reader Sam reports in:
I just scored the newest Saga Vintage figures at my local Target
here in Houston. I used the DPCI # 087-06-1856 and they pulled
them from
the back. I love these figures! Good luck!
A few months ago, fans got a sneak peek at four new exclusive maquettes
bound for this year's Star Wars Weekends at Disney-MGM Studios in Florida.
Visitors will have a bunch more exclusives waiting for them this year
when the annual event stops in for four consecutive weekends between
June 1 and June 24, with a great poster, pins, figures and other collectibles
now readying for release.
Action figure collectors will want to keep an eye out for the five
cantina band members who will be offered in the new 2007 packaging
with a Star Wars Weekends sticker attached. Each figure includes
a different instrument, and pressing a button on the base plays
a selection
of cantina band music.
In addition to the slideshow depicting some of the Weekends wares
fans can expect next month, we're also showcasing a selection of illuminated
signage that will be appearing in Orlando International Airport this
summer. Unfortunately, these wonderful images are exclusive to airport
display and not offered for sale.
Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron will be the only title we
see from the multiplayer blaster series this year and it's a PSP
exclusive. First screenshots have been released.
Renegade Squadron's being developed by Rebellion and features online
multiplayer that supports up to 16 players along with new battles and
missions, all of which is wrapped up in a new Star Wars yarn.
HONG KONG--Corgi International Limited (Nasdaq GM:CRGI) today announced
that it has notified Lucasfilm Ltd. that the company has withdrawn
its offer to secure a new license agreement for Star Wars products
starting January 1, 2008. The company's existing license with Lucasfilm
Ltd. for Star Wars products expires on December 31, 2007. Lucasfilm
Ltd. had previously notified the company that it was not willing to
provide a new license on the terms proposed by the company. Corgi believes
that it is not in the best interest of its shareholders to accept a
new license on the terms proposed by Lucasfilm Ltd.
The forums at GentleGiantCollectors continue
to be the place to be to discuss the Celebration IV Art Show. Currently,
more than 33 of the artists who will be offering limited edition prints

Inside
Robot Chicken: Star Wars!
From StarWars.com:
When Adult Swim's "Robot Chicken" decides to jump to Hyperspace
with the upcoming release of Robot Chicken: Star Wars fans can look forward
to seeing their favorite characters and movie moments satirized and tweaked
as the show's creators Seth Green and Matthew Senreich only know how.
The
creative duo first met when Senreich, who was still an editor at ToyFare
magazine, asked Green for an interview about his custom-made
dolls he made for the cast of his show "Buffy the Vampire Slayer." "The
next thing you know we were buddy-buddy sending each other toys back
and forth through the mail that we couldn't find," Senreich says. "And
it was right around the time all the Star Wars prequels were coming

Gon Jinn Scaled Lightsaber will arrive at the MR distribution center

Star Wars, the 1977 science fiction classic directed by George Lucas,
has been named the most influential visual-effects movie of all time
by the California-based Visual Effects Society.
The trade organization says the film was chosen by its 1,500 members,
topping its list of "The 50 Most Influential Visual Effects Films
of All Time."
The film, starring Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford, beat
out the Ridley Scott-directed Blade Runner (1982). Tied for third place
was Stanley Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968) and Andy and Larry
Wachowski's The Matrix (1999).
"These films have had a significant, lasting impact on the
practice and appreciation of visual effects as an integral, artistic
element
of cinematic expression and the storytelling process," VES executive
director Eric Roth said. The VES represents artists, producers,
technology developers, educators and studio executives involved in
special effects.
Star Wars went on to spawn five sequels as well as a television series,
comic books, action figures, video games and trading cards.

Meet the Producer and Director Of The Clone Wars at C4!
It's been talked about for two years, but the long wait to hear about
The Clone Wars from Lucasfilm Animation is nearing an end as fans at
Celebration IV will be able to go behind the scenes with the crew of
this extraordinary new Star Wars television series.
Catherine Winder, producer of The Clone Wars, and Supervising Director
Dave Filoni will make a special appearance at Celebration IV on Sunday,
May 27. During presentations in the Celebration Theater (Room 408AB),
Winder and Filoni will explore the genesis of the series and reveal
how a talented team of artists, designers and animators at Lucasfilm
Animation -- many of them longtime Star Wars fans -- have been bringing
an exciting, cinematic style to the CG-animated The Clone Wars.
It's the first public presentation by the creative team behind The
Clone Wars and promises a fascinating glimpse at the unique process
that goes into the creation of this significant new chapter in the
Star Wars Saga, created under the guidance of George Lucas himself.
Well, Spider-Man 3 arrived with a huge week and I liked it a lot.
I've heard mixed reviews from people, but I thought it was great!
Now to business. We are planning on having a Star Wars sale coming
up soon. Haven't decided for certain which items or prices, but just
wanted to let you know. We usually don't do sales on any recent items
just out of common courtesy for people who pre-order. Personally I
don't think it's right if you sell a pre-order and then when the item
actually starts to ship you lower the price or offer 'really cheap
deals if you email me'. But that is another deal altogether. If we
sell on Ebay it's generally comparable in price since Ebay purchases
don't get MWC Bounty Credit Rewards.
Yodasnews.com reader and SWAN regular Scott from Tulsa reports
in:
WM Cantina Tins have been found for $4 (Some stores had them for $7)
Also found the "Treachery" Battle Packs for $10!!
Both at the Broken Arrow Wal-Mart.

Lucas: More Live Action STAR WARS, & Spidey 3 Is "Silly"
From Fair & Balanced
FOX News: "It's (Spider-Man 3) silly. It's a silly movie," he said. "There just isn't
much there. Once you take it all apart, there's not much story, is there?"...
And here's a little news: Lucas tells me he will make two more live-action
films based in the "Star Wars" era.
"But they won't have members of the Skywalker family as characters," he said.
"They will be other people of that milieu."
Could Lucas be envious of your friendly neighborhood webslinger's success? Perhaps he's
bitter that ILM didn't land the visual effects contract?

quotes on the fourth Indiana Jones film.

STAR
WARS®: THE LEGACY REVEALED!
Through interviews with politicians, academics, journalists and
critics – all
of whom weigh in on the enduring appeal of George Lucas’s creations – the
special demonstrates that Star Wars isn’t just a high-action
adventure in space. It’s a remarkably complex and sophisticated
story about power, politics, sin, spirituality and redemption—almost
Shakespearean in its power, humor, presentation and influence.
The special makes the argument that Star Wars’ intensely compelling
stories—borrowed from diverse traditions, from Greek mythology
and American westerns to the Bible and even Vaudeville—compel
us to explore some of the biggest questions of our time. STAR WARS®:
THE LEGACY REVEALED explores that view through interviews with politicians,
academics, journalists and critics, who all weigh in on the creations
of George Lucas. The special shows how seldom a movie can make us laugh
and think about our role in the universe—which may be why it
has stood the test of time.
The special unites a diverse group of high-profile Star Wars fans,
from filmmakers to politicians to journalists. Their comments punctuate
the still jaw-dropping footage from all six episodes of the Star Wars
Saga.
STAR WARS®: THE LEGACY REVEALED is premiering
May 28th at 9pm/8c

Everywhere in the news it has been reported that Seth Green and Robot
Chicken are coming out with an all Star Wars episode of Robot Chicken
in June, with voices by Mark Hamill and George Lucas. This week Arnie
and Marjorie got on the phone with three people involved with the Robot
Chicken special, Seth Green, Matt Senreich and Dan Milano! They discussed
visiting the Lucasfilm ranch and archives, and what it was like to
direct George Lucas. Plus some extra surprises.
Also this week, Arnie interviews Dany Pepin formerly of Star Wars
en Direct. He has just released a new audio drama Omega Squad: Targets
based on the short story by Karen Traviss.
Hollywood actor HARRISON FORD was left red faced after he confused
one of his Star Wars co-stars at a restaurant for a waiter. Anthony
Daniels, who played C-3PO in all six Star Wars films, approached
Ford - who starred as Captain Han Solo in the blockbuster franchise
- but
he didn't know who Daniels was. Speaking at the launch of the Star
Wars Exhibition in London, England last Friday (04May07), he says, "I
was at a London restaurant a few years ago and I noticed Harrison
Ford. I went over to speak to him - and he asked me what dish I recommended.
I think he thought I was a waiter."

'Star
Wars' Loved by All!
A survey by Britain's Sky Movies reveals that "Star
Wars" and "Dirty Dancing" are the number one most watched
movies by both men and women, respectively.
The men's top five most watched movies list consisted of mostly sci-fi
and action movies, including "Terminator 2," "Bladerunner" and "Alien," the
BBC reported Sunday.
For women, there was an added touch of romance with "Pretty Woman" and
the musical "Grease," but "Star Wars" was still
No. 2 on the distaff list. The survey was done by Sky Movies Sci-fi & Horror
Channel as part of the Sci-Fi London film festival.
The sci-fi and fantasy films "Star Wars," "The Terminator," "Jaws" and "The
Lord of the Rings" trilogy were on the lists for both sexes and
about half of those surveyed admitted to watching the "Star Wars" series
more than 20 times.

When Nintendo revealed the Wii, there was no doubt that many people
were shocked by it. While in its last generation, the GameCube could
really hold its own in the graphics department, the focus was changed
for Nintendo’s latest. Instead of graphics, the Big N explained,
the focus should be on gameplay. And, while many people may still scoff
at that idea, those of you still unconvinced need look no further than
the surprise success of the LEGO Star Wars franchise, which is comprised
of two very fun games whose only real improvement on the Xbox 360 happened
to be really shiny floors.
All in all, LEGO Star Wars and LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy
exemplify what the Nintendo Wii stands for...
We now have a painted images of the Exclusive LEGO Star Wars Boba Fett
Maquette from Star Wars Shop. Click the image below to check them
out (there are shots from every angle). Edition size for Boba has
been set at 1500, which is sure to sell out (Vader and the Stromtrooper
were only 1000).

Star Wars Celebration IV are invited to attend two very special breakfasts
on Friday, May 25 and Sunday, May 27 at the Omni Los Angeles Hotel
at California Plaza from 7am-9am. The Fan Club Breakfasts have been
a favorite event for years and have offered rare opportunities to
meet the stars of Star Wars, mingle with fellow fans, talk with representatives
of Lucasfilm and take away lots of goodies. The Celebration IV breakfasts
offer that and more!

We saw this posted over MacWorld.com and
new the YN Mac users would love to give this a try:
It’s a few weeks later than Feral Interactive expected it
to be, but this week the game publisher released a downloadable demo
of
their Macintosh conversion of Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy,
a new game for the Mac that, not coincidentally, is now shipping to
retailers.
Lego Star Wars II combines the original trilogy of Star Wars films — “A
New Hope,” “The Empire Strikes Back” and “Return
of the Jedi” — with the perennially popular Lego building
blocks toys to create a unique gaming combination. You play through
recreations of key events and scenes in the movies — when Luke
Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi meet Han Solo and Chewbacca in the Mos
Eisley cantina for the first time, for example — the setting
of this particular demo, in fact.
We are supposed to be getting some Jango Fetts in today according
to tracking, so a few orders will be shipping out Monday. The remainder
of the Fetts are in-transit for arrival next week.
The Halo Bust issues dealing with green, red, and blue. Well, we
still haven't heard GG actually confirm anything, but many retailers
are
running with the variation theme. So, we are too! There are 3packs & Cases
now available for those of you interested.
County Hall in Westminster has hosted its fair share of intimidating
characters over the years but few have been as menacing as Darth Vader.
From tomorrow, the Star Wars baddie will be striding through the former
corridors of power with Jedi, robots and aliens as part of a major
exhibition.
The show features more than 280 props, costumes and models from all
six Star Wars films, borrowed from the Lucasfilm archive in the US.
Star exhibits include Luke Skywalker's Landspeeder hovercraft and
a dress worn by Natalie Portman in her role as Queen Amidala. There
will also be a life- size Naboo N- 1 Starfighter and interactive games,
with visitors invited to wield a light sabre under the guidance of
a Jedi knight.
Tabitha Totah of Lucasfilm said: "We're celebrating the 30th
anniversary of the first film and it seemed appropriate that all six
films were represented in the exhibition."
The show runs until 1 September and there will be extra events in
July when a 30th birthday party will be held at the ExCel centre. Some
of the stars from the films will be there, although no names are yet
confirmed.
The first Star Wars film, featuring Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher and
Sir Alec Guinness, opened on 25 May 1977 in 32 cinemas in the US. Its
backer, 20th Century Fox, was so convinced it would be a disaster it
came close to selling its stake just before its debut. But it proved
a massive hit and won six Oscars. It opened in Britain in December
that year.
Although the Star Wars films, written and directed by George Lucas,
have been overtaken in the popularity stakes by the Lord Of The Rings,
Harry Potter and Pirates Of The Caribbean franchises, the fourth Star
Wars epic, The Phantom Menace, remains in the top 10 highest-grossing
films in the UK.
The exhibition will be open seven days a week, with tickets priced
at £16.50 for adults and £12.50 for children.

Add an original piece of Star Wars art to your collection with the
latest of Artist Sketch cards in the Star Wars: 30th Anniversary
Trading Card Set from Topps, due to hit stores in June.
As one of the artists involved in the exciting new series of Topps
cards that celebrate the saga through the eyes of various illustrators
and comic book artists, Amy Pronovost says she's always had a soft
spot for the Skywalker family and the many representatives of scum
and villainy.
"Out of all the characters in the original Star Wars, my
favorite characters are a toss up between Luke, Leia and all the
cantina denizens," Pronovost says. "Luke and Leia are
fun and easy to caricature, and all of the aliens are just so different!
If I had to pick one alien, I'd have to say Hammerhead. His shapes
are so interesting, that I could just draw him over and over. Lockamaroo!"
Though Pronovost has nothing personal against the Dark Lord
of the Sith, she's not eager to draw his portrait ad nauseum. "I
only drew one Vader!" Pronovost confesses. "Black on
black with reflections is something I've yet to be able to fully
wrap my head around. Something that surprised me is that stormtroopers
are pretty challenging to draw as well, but I love to draw them!"
Pronovost made sure that she included a few inside jokes and
references for the hardcore fans who collect her cards. "I have a couple
of nods to the 'Tales from the Mos Eisley Cantina' short stories
in some of my cantina scenes," Pronovost says. "I've
also done a few cards without captions and people have nailed the
quotes down to the second ('Get this walking carpet out of my way!').
Seeing someone be able to do that makes me incredibly happy."
Here's a first look at the sketch cards from Pronovost, click

New Star Wars Book Unlike Any Other
For the past 30 years, Star Wars fans have been going to
great lengths to express their passion for the Saga. Perhaps nowhere is this more
evident than with the large group of people who have chosen to celebrate Star Wars
through tattoo art, forever marking themselves with the captivating imagery found
throughout that galaxy far, far away. Now, collectors and fans of Star Wars tattoo
art have a book of their very own: The Force in the Flesh - the first publication to
delve into the world of Star Wars tattoos and elegantly showcase the finest Star Wars
body art the world has to offer.
Written by Shane Turgeon, creator of
www.tattoosandtoys.com,
The Force in the Flesh is a 9" x 11" embossed hardcover, full-color, coffee table
book spanning 208 pages and is packed with over 400 photos tastefully telling the
individual stories of 45 different Star Wars tattoo collectors and artists from the
world over. Profiled artists from the tattoo industry include Guy Aitchison, Hannah
Aitchison, Craig Driscoll, Needles, Chris Iwaniuk, Luis Villagomez, Matt Ellis and
many more with additional artwork collected from the likes of Brandon Bond, Steve
Moore, Troy Denning, Chris Garver, Patrick Cornolo, Jason Rhodes, Marc C. Merchant,

The Art of Ralph McQuarrie Update
Just a quick note to let you know that we have posted our
latest production update
online, including images of the three exclusive signed bookplates that we will be giving
away to attendees of Star Wars Celebration who have pre-ordered copies of The Art of Ralph
McQuarrie, or purchase the book at the show.
We have also announced that all customers who have pre-ordered the book will also
receive a specially designed signed bookplate that will ship with the book. As the pre-order
cut-off will coincide with the receipt of the books (expected next week!), folks will have to
act quickly to take advantage of this offer.
As of now, the deluxe edition is SOLD OUT (we are taking names on a waiting list, and
will maintain that until all sales are final on the remaining reserved copies). We do still
have some signed copies available for pre-order, however it is not clear how many (if any) we
will have remaining to bring to Celebration IV. I strongly encourage anyone interested in a
signed copy to pre-order to avoid disappointment. We hope to bring several hundred copies of
the unsigned trade edition with us to the show.
When I first heard that Aspyr would be porting Star Wars:
Empire at War to the Mac, this reminded me as to why I like
the company; they may not bring a ton of original content
to the Mac, but the stuff you drool over at a friend's house
usually sees the light of day under OS X. That being said,
I've wanted a good Star Wars real time strategy game on the
Mac since Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds. That and having
camped out for all three Star Wars prequels proved that I
was not only a fan, but was slow to learn my lesson.
For the most part, Aspyr (www.aspyr.com) has delivered.
Empire at War, which combines the basic storyline of "A New
Hope" through "Return
of the Jedi" (episodes four through six or "the original trilogy"),
gathers the entire Star Wars universe including locales mentioned
in the novels and comic books. Players can choose between the
Empire and Rebellion campaigns as well as skirmish battles
and multiplayer and then begin to conquer the galaxy on their
own terms...
May is here and Yodasnews is happy to continue
almost a two year streak of bringing you a new giveaway each

We
will make this one easy, with the weather getting nicer and

one entry, and if you want to do a guest review for us, we
will give you 2 more entries. Max of 3 entries per person. Click

Star
Wars Action News Update!
It's Star Wars' 30th Anniversary. There's no movie to
mark the occasion, no twelve disc DVD release, no television
show, and even the video game to mark the year has been
pushed into 2008, but Star Wars fans are lucky to have
perhaps the best item of all to celebrate the 30th Anniversary
of A New Hope--the book The Making of Star Wars by J.W.
Rinzler. This book has been getting a lot of publicity
lately from major sources like CNN, but this week Marjorie
and Arnie sat down with the author, J.W. Rinzler, to discuss
the process of making the book and what items didn't make
it into the volume but should have.
Also this week are several other guest segments. Darth Kozy
from the Star Wars Action News forums brings us a special
segment on action figure customization, Jakob has his monthly
segment, and Marjorie and Arnie interview a man opening a
Star Wars toy display at a museum in West Virginia.
..
Conan O'Brien is in San Francisco this week, hosting NBC's "Late
Night with Conan O'Brien" from the city by the bay. Tonight,
his guests include Star Wars creator George Lucas. Earlier,
he paid a visit to Lucasfilm's Presidio-based headquarters
and scoped out the work of digital artists at Industrial Light & Magic
(watch
the video here). Starwars.com caught up with O'Brien
and tested his Star Wars mettle to see just how big a fan he
is.
