If you have been tired of seeing the same old stuff the last few weeks, you will be happy to know that many stores are now loading up on Star Wars toys! I went to about 20 stores yesterday and each one has new POTC, The new Unleashed Waves, GHs and to my surprise I also saw tons of the GG Bust Ups all over the mall! In addition to Hot Topic, I also found them at Suncoast, Media Play, Sam Goody, FYE, and Spencers. And most of those stores also had the Clone Strike Mini Boosters as well!

I just got back from a mini toy run and I am
happy to report that Target must be getting very inpatient with all those
cups laying around because in one week they went from 25, to 50 and today 75%
off. They were $2.48 each. Leia, Ani and Luke were stacked as far as they eye
could see. Also Boba and Slave I for $20.98 and the OTC Falcon for $34.98! Be
sure to check your local Targets for similar deals and report in if you find
anything even cheaper!

Fans who enjoy creating and wearing Star Wars costumes -- and we know there are a few -- will have two opportunities to display their talent on stage at Celebration III. The tremendous response for the costume contest at Celebration II in 2002 proved that one show is not enough for all the Star Wars fans who make great costumes and want to show them off. Costumers who want to be judged on craftsmanship alone can enter the Star Wars Costume Pageant, which will focus purely on construction and costuming excellence. Entrants will strut for the judges and show off their sewing talent without the added burden of creating a performance. Categories planned include Star Wars heroes, villains, "The Outer Rim" (anything else), and kids.

One of the great locations at Star Wars Celebration II was the Diorama Builders' room, a place where fans of all ages could go and get their hands dirty building their very own section of Mos Eisley spaceport. Frank D'Iorio, who organized the effort, worked with friends and sponsors to offer the projects free of charge for everyone, and builders could take home their section of the diorama when the show was over. D'Iorio will be back for Celebration III, this time to help fans build something completely different -- a diorama of the Empire's mighty Death Star. Thanks to support from Gen Con LLC, the company that manages Celebration III in cooperation with Lucasfilm, and to D'Iorio's hard work and great ideas, diorama building will again be free for fans. The Diorama Builders' area is planned for the Fan Fair Exhibit Hall. Fans can build their own section, and add it to a large diorama of the Death Star that will be assembled throughout the show.

Several People wrote in to let us know that they have found the new cantina wave figures hitting the pegs at KB Toys stores as well as KMart and TRU this weekend. It also appears that KB Toys has followed the trend of price increase on basic Star Wars figures, along with Toys R Us and Wal Mart, since the figures were priced at $7.99 each. Most KB Toys stores are running a promotion of 20% everything in their stores so this might help to alleviate the price hike. From Star Wars.com: Here's a look at two new items due out next year from Gentle Giant Studios -- classic trilogy characters reproduced in amazing and authentic detail. By May 2005, Darth Vader will be on everyone's mind as Episode III hits theaters.
Gentle Giant commemorates the release with a brand new 14" statue of the Dark Lord of the Sith. This statue stands in scale with the previous statue releases and includes a base. The Limited Edition statue will retail around $200. Wearing helmets appears to run in the family -- Princess Leia adopts a sinister disguise to infiltrate Jabba's Palace, and Gentle Giant has captured her in an all new mini-bust.
The feisty former Senator of Alderaan is depicted wearing her Boushh disguise, and the figure comes with interchangeable heads to switch from helmeted to "revealed" look. The figure stands 6.5 inches tall -- 7.5 inches with staff. It will retail for around $50 next May.

The Kmart in Hazleton had a new Star Wars section set up on an aisle 4-way with 4 Vader Voice Changers (sale price $27.99), several lightsabers with Galactic Heroes pack-in figures (sale price $16.99), and a tray full of the first 5 of the post-OTC wave at $6.99. However, they ring up at $6.29 because all Star Wars toys (besides the voice changer and sabers) are 10% off this week. The post-OTC assortment was highly uneven, with about half the tray filled with just Pablo-Jills and the other half containing only about 2 Sly Moores and 2 Rabes with Yarua and Amidala filling out the rest.
Kmart also got in a lot more Galactic Heroes this week including about 5 Stormtrooper 2-packs. They have also clearanced priced many other Star Wars items. 12" VOTC are $24 and they have all three. Cantina sets and Talking Yoda are $16. The Falcon is $48. I'm not sure if the 10% discount applies to clearance items but I would assume so.
Wal-Mart finally got in the Vader voice changer and had about 10 yesterday for $28.96. Today they were nowhere to be found with an empty space in the aisle where they had been. They have re-stocked VOTC a couple of times this month, and they always sell out, leaving about a peg each of Han, Ben, and Luke behind. There are still only 9 or 10 basic Star Wars figures on the pegs and they haven't restocked any in what seems like almost 2 months. They never got in a single one of the last 10 OTC figures or the Snowtrooper, let alone post-OTC. Unfortunately, the local Kmart never got in any OTC past the first 22 or so except for the Lando/Han/Madine triad. The availability on most of those tail-end OTC has been very disappointing. Most of them besides that triad I have only seen one time at Target or TRU, and not enough copies to find ones on good condition cards with good paint jobs.

By know I'm sure you have read in USA Today as well as other local papers that the Vader voice changer is being called the "tickle me elmo" of 2004 and that they are selling for over $100 on ebay. I personally cant see why people are paying that much when as of last night these were stacks and stacks of these at my local TRU and Target. Members of the Austin Fan Force have mentioned that they have found the new cantina wave figures hitting the pegs at KB Toys stores. It also appears that KB Toys has followed the trend of price increase on basic Star Wars figures, along with Toys R Us and Wal Mart, since the figures were priced at $7.99 each. Most KB Toys stores are running a promotion of 10% everything in their stores so this might help to alleviate the price hike. Hasbro announces that the four preview figures for Episode III: Revenge of the Sith will be available in stores February 1, 2005. Along with the announcement, Hasbro has pictures of the four figures and the vehicle that makes up the preview wave. Details and pictures can be found on the Hasbro site, possible spoilers ahead.
Images have shown up on Ebay featuring the new set of Clone Wars animated figures. Included in this collection are the following: General Greivous, Anakin Skywalker, and an ARC Trooper. Also, Hasbro is releasing variants of the original Clonetrooper from set two with red decos, blue decos, and yellow decos. But wait, that's not all!
