Auction
of Huge Collection To Benefit Rancho Obi-Wan
An auction of one of the most complete collections of loose Star
Wars action figures was launched on eBay today for the benefit
of the nonprofit Rancho Obi-Wan, which houses the world’s
largest private collection of Star Wars memorabilia: http://eBayActionFigureAuction.The
auction is in conjunction with the anniversary of the northern
California museum and the release of the new book, Star Wars:
The Ultimate Action Figure Collection (Chronicle Books, $40)
The action figure collection was built over more than 30 years
by Fon Davis, a long-time ILM model maker and now owner of FonCo
Creative Services, Lagunitas, CA. “Fon’s generosity
in donating this collection is mind-blowing, but it was done in
the true spirit of Star Wars fandom,” said Steve Sansweet,
chief executive of Rancho Obi Wan Inc. and principal author of
the new action figure book.
The auction
includes 1,950 different Star Wars action figures starting with
the vintage line in 1978 and continuing through the beginning
of 2011. It makes up about 85% of the figures documented in The
Ultimate Action Figure Collection; most of those not included
are from the last two years. All figures are in very good to excellent
condition with most original accessories. Detailed descriptions
of vintage figures and photos of the collection are on the auction
page. The collection has been appraised at a minimum value
of $8,200 by Pete Vilmur, collecting expert and co-author of four
Star Wars books. Click

Set your speakers to hyperspace and buckle up for a rip-roaring,
all-new Star Wars adventure – Smuggler’s Gambit —
starring everyone’s favorite scoundrels Han Solo and Chewbacca!
Performed in the spirit of the classic Star Wars NPR radio dramas
and set in the original trilogy era, Smuggler’s Gambit tests
Han and Chewie’s commitment to the cause as they venture
off to reclaim their glory days, only to realize that their decision
to help the Rebellion take down the Death Star was not without
consequence…
Presented exclusively here on StarWars.com for the first
time, this ”Final Mix” retains the spirit and excitement
of the live event, including the audience’s enthusiastic
reactions plus special enhancements that include additional original
Star Wars sound effects, ambiance, and music. This live performance
was done without any full cast rehearsal and there were no “take
twos” on any of the performances; it’s a true testament
to the talents of the wonderful cast led by David Collins as Han
Solo, along with Star Wars: The Clone Wars luminaries such as
Sam Witwer, Tom Kane, Ashley Eckstein, Matt Lanter, Dee Bradley
Baker, Matthew Wood, Clare Grant, and Boba Fett himself, Daniel
Logan!

Chances are if the recent shifts in Lucasfilm's administration
prove a final blow to George Lucas' overall involvement, it is
producer Rick McCallum that has primed that impression for years
now. Since the “Star Wars” Special Editions onward,
McCallum has slowly grown into the company's most vocal member
-- appearing at conventions and answering press to drum up interest
-- but now in the midst of Disney's $4 billion deal, it appears
the central force in Lucas' camp has filed his most crucial decision.
Just one day after the groundbreaking Disney agreement,
it was Lucasfilm's director of content management and fan relations,
Steve Sansweet, who announced (via East Valley Tribune) on the
official ForceCast podcast that McCallum is now “retired
from LucasFilm,” another surprising move in a series of
many. The reasons for his departure were not confirmed, but given
that in May of this year, McCallum was still highly involved in
the developing “Star Wars” TV series -- a project
which he excitedly described as “'Deadwood' in space”
-- one can only assume there has been a renovation in the company's
agenda with Kathleen Kennedy now steering the ship.
Been a while since I updated (life tends to get in the way
of hobbies), but I returned to a long gestating project. I had
initially developed plans to make this some time last year as
a commissioned piece, but that only went so far and I could not
find the email (to that person, my apologies...feel free to email
me and let me know what's what). Its just as well, because at
the time I was completing my Enterprise and starting in on the
bridge...and was perhaps a bit burnt out to be quite honest.
Anyway, flash forward to today, and the fact that I had lots
of cardboard from crib packaging (kid number two is due in 2 months!),
as well as some distance from modeling anything, and I figured
I could give this a go and make a 'prototype' of this project.
My son is currently enjoying my Star Wars toy collection immensely,
and has seen the first original film and parts of the second (not
the third one though...despite the fact that Return of the Jedi
has Ewoks, its pretty terrifying [re: Rancor, Emperor, Jabba and
Co.]...and I feel the same way about the prequels, especially
II and III). He really loves the movies, and loves looking at
all of my 'behind the scenes' materials with pictures of the models
and the copious amounts of Lucasfilm art department images. I've
seen him use a few things as a stand in for a Star Destroyer,
and I figured I had enough in me to give this a shot.

Sketchcard
to Benefit Make A Wish Foundation
Sent in by YN reader Jason:
The Rebel Legion is doing auctions for authentic Sketchcards
from various Star Wars Artists to benefit the Make-A-Wish®
Foundation. The sketches featured are of ACTUAL members of
the Rebel Legion International Star Wars Costuming Organization.
In 2012, the Rebel Legion decided to do a limited set of sketchcards
of our members to commemorate Celebration VI in Orlando Florida.
14 world renowned and extremely talented artists generously donated
their time and skills to create these one of a kind pieces of
art. Most pieces feature a Rebel Legion member in their approved
Star Wars costume. Once the art was completed it was compiled
into sets only available to Rebel Legion members. With the approval
of Lucasfilm, the original art for the cards was to be auctioned
off to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation® in hopes that the
funds would bring joy to a child in need.
This
auction features the art of JAMIE SNELL: Sketch Card Artist
- Featured in this auction is a 2 1/2" x 3 1/2" Original
piece of art featuring Ahsoka Tano from the the Clone Wars Movie
and Cartoons. The artwork was created specifically for this set
and is a 1 of 1 piece. Along with the originial piece of art,
you will get the actual printed sketchcard from the set it was
created for.
100% of the money from these auctions will go directly to
the Make-A-Wish® Foundation.
Thanks Jason, click
here to check it out or the image below - as of this posting
just under 24 hours left to bid and it's only at $26

It was just last November that we finally finished building
my dream — or, at least, the foundation of it. After 18
months of planning and lots of hard work from countless contractors,
friends who volunteered a bazillion hours of their time, and lots
of patience and luck, we incorporated Rancho Obi-Wan Inc. as a
California nonprofit public benefit corporation. And then we had
a Grand Reopening party for 180 people including 30 volunteers.
Dreams can be tricky. The drive from fantasy to reality can
take some sharp turns. There are hard decisions to make and, as
anyone who has done a remodeling project knows, you have to figure
you’re going to spend at least double your budget because
of unexpected problems or new ideas too cool to ignore.
“There’s a small river flowing under which building?
We need to shift how many tons of dirt to avoid water problems?”
“So how much extra would it cost to do lighted steps…and
a zero gravity room?”

under the ownership of Electronic Arts, has become free to play.
The developer finally gave into a trend affecting many other MMORPGs
and, after much expectation, finally made the shift from its subscription
only model.
Players can now explore the expansive worlds of Star Wars:
The Old Republic by themselves or with friends with absolutely
no obligation to pay. There are unfortunately limitations, as
with many MMORPGs on a free to play model, that will still remain
closed or restricted to players taking advantage of the game’s
new freedom. Though all story based content will not be affected,
players who want to take advantage of features like gaining specific
skills such as sprinting more quickly, sending mail to other players
or getting more inventory space, will have to pay to do so. They
can upgrade to preferred status by making a purchase of $4.99
that will slightly remove some of the restrictions. If gamers
want to unlock the game fully, they will need to pay for a subscription.

Star
Wars Action Figures - 2012 Hall Of Fame Inductee!
One of the 2012 inductees to the National Toy Hall of Fame on
Thursday, November 15 at 10:30 a.m was Star Wars Action Figures
- See the announcement below:
When 20th Century Fox released the first Star Wars movie
in May 1977, no one imagined it would change the toy industry
and popular entertainment so dramatically. The film spawned five
more episodes of a sprawling space opera that also generated sales
of millions of action figures of the saga’s characters.
The 3.75-inch figures—including Luke Skywalker, Princess
Leia Organa, Han Solo, Chewbacca, R2-D2, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and more
than 100 others—were sold from 1978 to 1985 and again from
the mid-1990s to the present day. For more than three decades,
kids have used Star Wars action figures—plus accessories,
vehicles, and play sets—to tell stories of heroes and villains,
of empire and rebellion, and of good triumphing over evil. Adults,
too, play when they collect Star Wars action figures.

We recently helped add some exciting details to the theater
in an incredible estate home. The client was looking to create
a home theater with the look and feel of being on a starship.
We suggested themed three dimensional tiles inspired by the Star
Wars Death Star trench and surfaces as a wainscot of sorts, running
under the screen and along the lower walls and steps. These would
give a sense of "tech" to the decor and, while recognizable
to the avid fan, they would not be an over the top, obvious themed
element. The end result blends wonderfully, with our pieces being
a subtle accent, just one part of a large and awe-inspiring themed
home theater.
Also new this month for pre-order is the final piece
in the Jabba’s Palace Band sub-series of Mini Busts with
Max
Rebo, the cornerstone of the band. This bust comes with a
unique red ball organ-inspired base and is sure to look fantastic
in any display and lastly is the OOM
Pilot Droid Mini Bust. This blue-accented battle droid fits
right in with our Battle Droid Mini Bust and our forthcoming Security
Droid Mini Bust. Like its predecessors, this piece comes with
a sound chip embedded in the base. Click
here to check those out as well!

THE
FUTURE OF STAR WARS EW 11/16 Issue
Hitting newsstands nationwide on Friday, ENTERTAINMENT
WEEKLY’s November 23rd, 2012 issue features Star Wars on
the cover. Here are some highlights from the article:
Lucasfilm’s co-chairman and soon-to-be
president, Kathleen Kennedy, has told employees she wants the
company to produce two or three films a year (it’s averaged
fewer than four per decade), and first up is Star Wars: Episode
VII for 2015, which will pick up sometime after Darth Vader gave
his life to overthrow (figuratively and literally) the Emperor
and save Luke in 1983’s Episode VI— Return of the
Jedi. Yes, the plan is to return to the characters in the first
trilogy (1977–83). Whether the original actors will have
significant roles or merely be on hand to pass the baton to a
new generation of actors—something Lucasfilm tried with
mixed success with Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal
Skull and Disney with TRON: Legacy—is unclear. But the reintroduction
of Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, and Han Solo is a jolting concept
that will inspire a lot of goose bumps and at least a few groans.
George Nolfi, a Star Wars buff as well as the writer-director
of The Adjustment Bureau, says the horizon will need to be bigger
to handle the colossal project taking shape. “I can’t
imagine,” Nolfi says, “a larger event film for our
generation than a sequel to Return of the Jedi.”
Many fans, though, worry about an Imperial Walker stomping
on their childhood memories. One of those fans is Star Trek reboot
director J.J. Abrams, who was so conflicted in his feelings about
the news that he veered into something close to Shatnerian syntax:
“Part of me? Thrilled. Part of me? Terrified. Most of me?
Thrillified.”
No one was more surprised than Mark Hamill, now 61, who portrayed
Luke Skywalker in three movies but stopped hoping a long, long
time ago that he’d ever have another chance to feel the
Force of a global spotlight. Hamill learned the good news in August
when he and Carrie Fisher, who played Princess Leia, were summoned
to lunch with Lucas, who confided that another trilogy would soon
be ramping up. Hamill says he was thunderstruck— and is
now bracing for cynical backlash. “When [Lucas] said, ‘We
decided we’re going to do Episodes VII, VIII, and IX,’
I was just gobsmacked,” Hamill says. “ ‘What?
Are you nuts?’ I can see both sides of it. Because in a
way, there was a beginning, a middle, and an end, and we all lived
happily ever after and that’s the way it should be. And
it’s great that people have fond memories— if they
do have fond memories. But on the other hand, there’s this
ravenous desire on the part of the true believers to have more
and more and more material.”

DARTH
VADER TO BE RESURRECTED???
Via Express.co.uk
(hoping it's nothing more than rumor)
Following news that Disney has bought the rights
to the lucrative sci-fi franchise and plans to make at least three
more movies, industry insiders say the evil Vader will grace the
big screen again.
“He’s an integral part of the franchise. Replacing
him is virtually impossible,” explains a film mole. "The
plan is for him to return and play a significant role in the new
films.”
Former bodybuilder turned actor David Prowse donned the black
body armour in the original three films but the character was
voiced by James Earl Jones. Actor Hayden Christensen, who starred
in the subsequent Star Wars prequels, was the last actor to appear
in the suit following his character Anakin Skywalker’s descent
to the Dark Side.
Mickey using The Force? Donald shot first? Yousa
Goofy gunna die? When Disney runs the show, you never know what
will happen (but most likely it will be heavily marketed towards
your unwitting children ad infinitum).

The Marian Anderson Award has announced the
guest artists for its upcoming Award Gala on November 19, 2012,
at the Kimmel Center, honoring the Tony, Grammy and Academy Award-winning
actor James Earl Jones. In announcing the program, Award Chair
Pamela Browner White noted, "This year we will be honoring
an individual who has been part of our cultural landscape for
many years—a true American icon, Mr. James Earl Jones.”
White continues, “Much like Marian Anderson,
Mr. Jones has made vast contributions to American life though
his unparalleled range as an actor—from small early roles
in landmark films like Dr. Strangelove, to innovative plays like
The Great White Hope, and powerful films like Field of Dreams
and Cry the Beloved Country—even voicing the character of
Mufasa in the Disney animated film The Lion King. He has remained
a tremendous presence for decades on the Broadway stage in both
classic and innovative performances, and he has also made his
mark on television—winning two Grammy Awards in one year
(1991) for Gabriel’s Fire and Heatwave, and even stopping
by Sesame Street to recite the alphabet.

The force is strong with Boba Fett -- or at
least with the actor who played the "Star Wars" villain
in the 2002 prequel "Attack of the Clones" ... because
the guy helped save an elderly couple from a NASTY real-life car
wreck ... and TMZ has a photo of the hero in action.
A rep for Daniel Logan tells TMZ ... the 25-year-old actor
was driving in Orange County last week when he spotted a completely

One of those people is Jimmy Smits, who in addition
to recurring role on FX’s Sons of Anarchy is also known
in the Star Wars universe as Senator Bail Organa. He’s continued
that role in various Star Wars video games, so it shouldn’t
be much of a stretch to assume he’d take a role in Star
Wars: Episode VII if the opportunity presented itself.
Well, he will. Spinoff Online had the chance to ask Smits
about the Disney purchase during a Sons of Anarchy conference
call, and he said he’d take a part in the new movie if those
developing it have a place for him. As far as Smits is
concerned, “My character was gone after episode whatever.
If they want to call, let them call.”
We last saw Bail Organa in Star Wars: Episode III —
Revenge of the Sith, he adopted Anakin and Padme’s daughter
Leia. Considering that his home planet Alderaan was destroyed
at the beginning of A New Hope, we doubt Bail is still kicking
in the Star Wars universe. But still, stranger things have been
done for the sake of a cameo.
Smits revealed he didn’t find out about the Disney
acquisition until well after it had been announced, saying, “My
kids were the one that told me. They started texting me because,
I don’t know, they must be on blog sites or something.”
He had nothing but kind things to say about the news,
and reflected fondly on his time working with George Lucas.
“Congratulations to George, because that was like a
mega deal. It’s great that it will kind of live on in a
different kind of incarnation,” he said. “He built
that in so many ways, and not only built that franchise, but because
of the success of the franchise, he was able to do so much for
the film industry, really. This whole thing about digitalization,
one of those films that I worked on, the prototypes for that HD
camera was something that we were using, so he pushed the envelope
in so many technical ways, not only with regards to the film industry.
He’s got a lot of balls that he’s juggling, so it’s
a good thing that he’s able to find a way to kind of pass
that franchise along.”

Walmart’s Black Friday shopping advertisement
has shown up online and included is a Star Wars 8-pack of action
figures that will be available for $25 from Thursday, November
22nd at 8:00PM through Friday, November 23rd at 11:00PM. The ad
shows Shadows of the Dark Side packaged Saga Legends figures but
that may or may not be accurate for what we’ll find in stores.
Along with the Star Wars pack, there will also be an Avengers
8-pack and that set is showing off a mix of Iron Man, Captain
America and Thor figures from each character’s respective
movie.
If the photo from the ad is accurate, it seems that Hasbro
is still looking for a way to dump older stock. It will be interesting
to see if any of the current Movie Heroes figures, which are two
waves behind at retail, show up in these sets.

Last week, Disney purchased production company
Lucasfilm, and the media empire announced plans to shoot three
more Star Wars movies, with the first set to be released in 2015.
So now's our chance. They've got to shoot these movies somewhere,
so why not Ohio, right?
Episodes I through VI of the Star Wars movies have been filmed
all over the world. Shooting locations include Italian palaces,
Tunisian deserts and Norwegian glaciers. It’s true that
Ohio doesn’t sound as exotic as Caserta, Italy (where some
of Episode I’s Naboo scenes were filmed), or even Yuma,
Arizona (Return of the Jedi).
But, OK, listen: Ohio has renewed its Motion Picture Tax
Credit, which could save Disney some cash after spending $4.05
billion on the Lucasfilm deal. Disney/Marvel’s The Avengers,
shot mostly in Cleveland, proves that the state can produce a
legitimate blockbuster. That's got to count for something. Plot
information for Episode VII has yet to be announced, but if you’re
listening, location scouts, I’ve got a couple of ideas in
Ohio:
Lake Erie: We haven’t seen much water in Star Wars.
Sure, there was the swamp of Dagobah, where water seemed to come
mostly in the form of steam. And there were underwater scenes
in Episode I: The Phantom Menace, but we had to suffer through
the blabbering of Jar Jar Binks at the same time. Film at Lake
Erie, and the cast and crew could hang out in Sandusky, and the
second generation of Skywalkers and Solos -- which we hope will
show up in Episode 7 -- can play at Cedar Point on their days
off. It's America's Roller Coast!
State Park forests: Ohio has myriad state parks with lush
forests. There’s likely to be at least one wooded location
in at least one of the movies in the third trilogy. Here's why:
If the plot overlaps at all with the Star Wars expanded universe
of books and comic books, the characters will need to revisit
the forests of Yavin 4. In the Star Wars expanded universe, the
rebel base on Yavin 4 is repurposed as a Jedi Academy and is the
setting for many young-Jedi adventures.
Yavin 4's pyramid-like structures, which function as the
rebel base in the original trilogy, are actually Mayan temples
in Guatemala. Forget Guatemala -- green-screen those temples into
Hocking Hills, and you can get a refundable tax credit for 25
to 35 percent off in-state spending!

Harrison Ford is open to the idea of bringing
Han Solo back to life on the silver screen in 2015, according
to sources close to the just-announced Star Wars sequel, but don’t
be surprised if his contract includes a mandatory death scene
for the sly old space smuggler.
“Harrison is open to the idea of doing
the movie and he’s upbeat about it, all three of them are,”
said one highly placed source, referring to Ford, Mark Hamill,
and Carrie Fisher, the trio that made a hyper-speed jump to global
fame on May 25, 1977, the opening night for George Lucas’s
original Star Wars film...
...More than money, Ford might be drawn back
by the upside of changes at Lucasfilm where the respected Kathleen
Kennedy is taking over as company president, and with the Jedi
franchise as a whole now that Kennedy is in as executive producer
and Lucas will take on a consultant role, leaving the director’s
chair for someone else.
Indeed, Ford won’t go to the next level
of contract talks until there’s a script and director in
place. Either could be a deal breaker. Still, at any stage, an
“upbeat” signal from Ford on any Solo matter is enough
to shock and excite fans who view Star Wars as something close
to religion.

DARTH
MAUL LS BUST PHOTO GALLERY AND PRE-ORDER INFO!
OK folks, take this one with a grain of plastic
for the time being. Unless you’ve been under a rock, you’ve
heard that Disney acquired Lucasfilm for roughly $4 billion last
week and Marvel for around the same price a few years prior. Well,
we have it on good authority that serious discussions are happening
at the highest levels of both Disney and Hasbro to fold the largest
toy and game company on the planet into the Mouse.
From what we’re told, these are still just discussions
at this point, but serious enough that something could be announced
at any time and create ripples throughout the entertainment industry.
The Lucasfilm acquisition has been reported as taking as few as
6 months to complete. On the other hand, Disney Chairman and CEO
Bob Iger has until 2015 on his current contract, and he waited
about 3 years in between the acquisitions of Marvel and Lucasfilm,
so we may be without firm news on this for some time.
The acquisition would give Disney the rights to Transformers,
G.I. Joe, Dungeons and Dragons, Beyblade, Battleship, Nerf, and
Magic: The Gathering among several dozen other game titles and
IP. When you add Marvel and Star Wars to that list it’s
a pretty comprehensive lock on boy’s entertainment; a far
cry from a few years back when Disney was heavily criticized for
losing its grip on boys.
Hasbro holds the toy and table top game licenses to the now
Disney-owned Star Wars and Marvel, and has shown great success
with those franchises, as well as exploiting their own IP across
film, television, and games. We’ve already seen some cross-pollination
with Star Wars Transformers and Monopoly. And Hasbro isn’t
shy from M&A having scooped up Parker Brothers, Kenner, Tonka,
Milton Bradley, and Wizards of the Coast over the years. So from
an outsider’s perspective this makes a ton of sense for
all involved.

Interview with Mark Hamill Touches on Episode VII
Disney now has the power to make STAR WARS films,
and everything else in the Lucasfilm archives. The movies I told
you about are indeed the primary focus. Luke Skywalker is a primary
focus, as are many of the original trilogy cast. Disney also realised
that George Lucas and STAR WARS are one and the same, so George
will certainly have a voice on any angle taken, in fact I believe
it's one of many stipulations. However he will no longer have
creative control, and as I said before George was already looking
at other creative talents to bring his canon to life back before
Disney and Lucasfilm really started negotiating (or at least to
the best of my knowledge)..."
"Way back when I told you about the new movie trilogy
planned, I never explained to you that they were being rewritten
from previously secret drafts from way back during the making
of the original trilogy. The main problem was the age of the cast,
and the tone of the story. Now I do believe that Walt Disney intend
on playing to the cultural significance of that original trilogy.
You will see a tone more in line with the original trilogy, and
specifically featuring that cast, if everything shakes out as
intended. Which it will, I promise you.
You can expect to hear more news on the live action TV show
in the near future, as the scripts already written will be absorbed
in some way into a TV format. The nature of the show and the technical
requirements needed to meet a TV budget and schedule are pretty
ambitious. Basically they are 45 minute long feature films. With
concepts that are very ambitious and the fact that it focuses
on characters that are not known and are completely different
to what people may have in mind about a STARWARS TV show. This
was the problem at the time, and I am pretty sure this is still
a problem. At least on the live action front. I am told that soon
there will be some kind of material released relating to shot
footage and tests on that concept. So look out for that.

Amazon
Star Wars Sales
Amazon.com
is running a lot of Gold
Box and Daily
Deals that include Star Wars items (figures, games, lego's
and more) - The percentages have been up and down but we have
seen up to 60% off some items and an average of about 25% off,
even some of the newer items like TVC Wave 16 and the Angry Birds
sets are discounted and mst of them also have the FREE
Super Saver Shipping on orders over $25.
Over the past seven years, Collider’s
track record has been pretty good. The reason is, before we run
any “scoop,” we always make sure to double source
it so we know the information is accurate. However, the story
we are about to run has not been confirmed, and I want to make
sure everyone knows this is not 100%. I only decided to run this
because I trust my sources and it’s Star Wars. In addition,
while I spent all weekend trying to lock this story down, all
my normal connections would not go on record (or they did not
know), so this is going up as a “rumor” and “unconfirmed.”
Now that I’ve warned you this is just a “rumor”….
I’m hearing that Matthew Vaughn, the director of Kick-Ass,
Stardust, Layer Cake, and X-Men: First Class, is in talks with
Lucasfilm to helm Star Wars: Episode VII. My sources tell me this
is the main reason he dropped out of the X-Men sequel (which Bryan
Singer is now directing).
He's the coolest smuggler in the galaxy, but
she definitely scored some points with these two cuts. And Venn
diagrams? Everyone could use a little more Venn in their lives.

Possible
Star Wars Film Titles?
HowToBeADad.com had a little fun with the Disney/Lucas
merger, chek it out:
Fanboys and girls all over the world sensed
a disturbance in the force on Tuesday when shocking news spread
that Lucasfilm had been bought by Disney Studios. Reactions varied,
but the consensus was a relief that we would, once again, get
our Star Wars addiction satisfied. Just look at their great work
with Marvel! What’s more interesting, however, is the studio’s
announcement that there will be a new Star Wars movie every two
to three years.
We have been corresponding with Disney about
the Lucasfilm acquisition, even before the purchase was final.
And they have given us inside access about the development of
these new films. So, we present to you, without approval by Disney
and its stakeholders, the new, top-secret titles of the upcoming
Star Wars films under Disney management!

James
Burns from Jedi News on BBC
YN friend and Force United member James Burns was
on BBC News yesterday morning! Very cool to see "one of our
own" on a major network - Congrats James, check it out below:
Well, we know that, whatever the plot of Episode
7, George Lucas won't have a heavy hand in the day-to-day creation
of it. He's apparently written the treatments for the films, but
he won't produce or direct—an excellent opportunity for
another visionary to jettison Jar Jar Binks out of an airlock
permanently. As for the plot, Star Wars superfans have a theory
on what they'll be seeing next. But I have a surprise for them:
They're wrong. If you're a fan, you're definitely gonna want to
read on.
First of all, you should know that there is
an official canon concerning the Star Wars universe. Those stories
cover the years after rebel victory (i.e., after Return of the
Jedi). It's written in a series of books called the Thrawn Trilogy,
by author Timothy Zahn. Die-hard Star Wars fans know the trilogy
well, and they say that a big-screen adaptation of the first book,
Heir to the Empire, would make the most logical Episode 7.
So is that the basis for Episode 7 or not?
I've heard directly from LucasFilm and other sources close
to the picture, and they say: Definitely not. "It's an original
story," a LucasFilm source tells me.
In other words, forget the Star Wars novels.
Forget the graphic novels. Forget everything you think you know
about what happens to Luke Skywalker. According to my sources,
Episode 7 will literally be nothing you've ever seen or read before
from the Star Wars universe.

George Lucas Will Use Disney $4 Billion to Fund
Education - By the end of the year, the $4.05 billion sale of
Lucasfilm to Disney should be finalized. And since George Lucas
owns 100 percent of his company - which has little to no debt
- all that money goes to him.
“George Lucas has expressed his intention,
in the event the deal closes, to donate the majority of the proceeds
to his philanthropic endeavors.”
It's not yet clear which foundation will get
the proceeds. Lucas is currently the chairman of Edutopia, which
is part of the George Lucas Educational Foundation. He could put
money into that or create a new foundation which would be funded
from the sale. The Foundation was the vehicle Lucas used to make
a $175 million donation to his alma mater USC in 2006. He has
also given to many other causes over the years including the Film
Foundation, Stand Up To Cancer and the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
