Renton, Wash (June 9, 2006) – Champions of the Force, the latest expansion from Wizards of the Coast’s highly popular Star Wars Miniatures Game, allows heroes from the light side of the Force to fight the powers of the dark side in this collection of characters that delves deep into the expanded universe of the Star Wars saga. With an all-new, very-rare Yoda, and more plastic weaponry elements than any prior expansion, Champions of the Force kicks the gameplay into hyper-drive!
 
Players can declare their allegiance to the Rebel Alliance and engage in battle in pursuit of peace and freedom throughout the galaxy. Or they can fight on the dark side of the evil Galactic Republic to try to suppress the Rebel do-gooders! The pre-painted standard-scale (30mm) plastic miniatures allow players to stage exciting and unique battles using characters from the full gamut of the Star Wars saga, including the six movies, computer games, novels, comics and animated series.  Players can immerse themselves in skirmishes with familiar characters, such as Jedi Master Luke Skywalker or Darth Maul, as well as characters new to the game, such as Jaina Solo or Corran Horn (from the best-selling Star Wars® novels).
 
Each Champions of the Force booster pack contains seven random Star Wars Miniatures from the 60-figure set. Miniatures from this new expansion can be used with the latest starter game, Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith™ and combined with other expansion sets to make the players’ ultimate Star Wars battle come to life!
 
The starter game, which allows two players to immediately engage in competition, has a suggested retail price of $24.99 and includes four non-randomized and two exclusive miniatures and their matching stat cards, game board, 20-sided die, and game play instruction book. Champions of the Force booster packs, available in June, have a suggested retail price of $12.99. Each booster contains seven randomized figures — including premium figures in every pack — allowing players to build their teams strategically.
