QUESTION: We noticed something pretty cool in the recent Clone Wars Season 3 Trailers. It appears that Assajj Ventress' "Fanblade Fighter" makes its return to the Clone Wars in grand fashion! This seems like an opportune time for a fine and unique vehicle like this to possibly make its way into the line. The question is, are you considering it, and how do you think the folding wing mechanism would work?

ANSWER: We are not considering doing Assajj's Fanblade fighter. As cool as we might think it is, it actually suffers as a kid vehicle given it's rather unusual shape and the fact it belongs to a female antagonist. As such, it just isn't a strong vehicle for us to invest in compared to other great choices. It doesn't mean we won't pursue it some day, but it is not in the works right now.

QUESTION: Now that we have been introduced to Darl Maul's brother, Savage Oppress, when can we expect to see a figure of him released and when will we get our first look at said figure?

ANSWER: We cannot get Savage Oppress into the line quickly enough! Right now, it looks like he'll be on shelves May 1st next year. We'll have a first look at him at Toy Fair.

QUESTION: At SDCC you showed upcoming figure 2-packs included with an episode from the Clone Wars TV series. Yet one of the packs had the DVD of Rising Malevolence and the figure shown was the Ahsoka figure with Rotta the Huttlet (clearly from the movie). Is that the final figure to be included with that set, and is that the right episode?

ANSWER: Yes, it will be the same Ahsoka. Rotta is basically a bonus accessory that we included since, well, we had it and it's a really fun little dude to have.

QUESTION: Also on the figure/DVD 2 packs, will all the figures in those sets be straight repacks of previously released figures or will there be repaints/resculpts/new figures in these packs?

ANSWER: All of the figures will be straight repacks of figures that had been previously released. These are kid-targeted sets, and we did not want to change what we felt were already great figures!

QUESTION: The last Clone Wars wave in the "red & white package" showed on the back of the cards a Cad Bane figure in a clone trooper outfit and then stickers started being placed over the images of the figures and the new images did not have that figure. So is that figure not being made now or is it being released at a later date?

ANSWER: This figure was pulled at the last minute for use in a promotion that ultimately didn't happen. That's the unfortunate part. The good news is that we are close to getting him into a mainline Battle Pack in the back half of 2011. It's a cool figure and we can guarantee that he will come out some day.

QUESTION: Will we see an Admiral Trench and more tactical droids?

ANSWER: There are no plans right now for an Admiral Trench, but there will be more Tactical Droids on the way next year.

QUESTION: Hey hasbro Are we ever going to get Dooku's solar sailer or a ship for Assaj Ventress (there are a few to choose from here)? These are key characters in the Clone Wars and both have had their ships featured in various episodes. The bad guys need their rides for the kiddies to play with too, and collectors would eat these up too. And well were at it when is my Clone Wars Anakin going to get his Twilight to fly? These are all main character ships, that I am truly suprised haven't been made yet.

ANSWER: These vehicles are currently not planned for the line. Perhaps there is an exclusive opportunity down the road, but nothing is in the works at the moment.

QUESTION: After finding "The Clones Wars" line's R7-A7, I'm wondering why its dome isn't white, as seen in the TV series and on the cardback?

ANSWER: Hmmm…to us the dome looks closer to light grey versus white.

QUESTION: Seeing as it was featured prominently in the season 3 Clone Wars premiere and looks to be in season 4 is there any chance we will see Asajj Ventress' Trident Drill Squid ship made?

ANSWER: This is an extremely cool vehicle, but for most part our mainline will not include vehicles that only appear in a limited number of episodes. However, there are always exceptions! But this vehicle is currently not planned in the line.

QUESTION: The Clone Wars "Citadel" trilogy introduced many new characters to the series that would make extremely exciting action figures, including Even Piell, Tarkin, OOM-10 and R2-D2's Battle Droid Squad, ARC Troopers Echo & Fives, and more. Can collectors look forward to seeing any of these great characters captured as "Clone Wars" figures in 2011?

ANSWER: Keep an eye out for Clone Wars Even Piell and an ARC Trooper!

People absolutely waste some of these questions. Anyway, considering the way Admiral Yularen is still keeping the dust off the floor at several stores, I doubt Hasbro is in any hurry to invest in a Tarkin figure. In the eyes of a kid, he's basically the same thing, a boring military officer who doesn't really do anything. I would love to see him done, but I couldn't fault Hasbro if they decided to skip him.

QUESTION: We have seen numerous Republic Gunships in Season 2 and Season 3 of The Clone Wars and some of them had some fantastic nose art. One of them that comes to mind is Ki Adi Mundi's LAAT from Landing at Point Rain (We believe it is called the Separtist Nightmare) that has the great image of a Clone Trooper Helmet as a kind of Skull. Is there any chance we will see this or any other version of a Gunship being released soon so we can transport our Clones to the planet's surface?

ANSWER: Love this topic. A Republic Gunship is not currently planned for 2012, but perhaps 2013…

QUESTION: Having recently finished up viewing the Season 3 Finale of The Clone Wars with the Episodes Padawan Lost and Wookie Hunt we were immersed into the history of the Trandoshans versus the Wookies. Hands down I think I can speak for everyone when I say I would love to see specific figures and vehicles made for every character in these episodes and was wondering if you could release any specific details on which Trandoshans/Wookies are going to be made and if we are going to see any of the great Trandoshan Skiffs (MSP80 Pteroptors) perhaps in a battlepack or in a mini-rig vehicle offering?

ANSWER: We agree that many of these vehicles and characters were fantastic. However, given our shift in focus on characters and vehicles that can be seen in many episodes/storylines, items such as these that appear in shorter story arcs are not planned for the toy line.

QUESTION: Although I'm mainly a movie / comic based collector, I've been really enjoying some of 'The Clone Wars' figures you've been releasing to date - & the line itself is great. However, there seems to be a lack of variety in the astromech area in terms of different models / shapes etc. My question is, will you be releasing any R5 type droids in this line in future?

ANSWER: There are no R5 droids planned, but we’ve given it serious thought. The pirate R5 with his blaster would be at the top of our list.

QUESTION: 2011 has been an extremely difficult year for Clone Wars collectors. Virtually every new figure released in late 2010 and the first third of 2011 has been impossible to find at retail, whereas every store has entire shelves of Anakin, Captain Rex, Clone Troopers, and Commander Cody. The casepacks solicited for early summer and fall show even more of these over-abundant characters coming in nearly every case. Are there plans for quantities of characters that there are an overabundance of to be reduced in future casepacks, and perhaps reintegrate in-demand figures that were very sparsely produced like Commander Bly, Aayla Secura, Undead Geonosians, Clone Trooper Draa, older Ahsoka and Darth Sidious into the mix?

ANSWER: Moving forward you can expect Clone Wars waves to continue to include primarily the "greatest hits" type of characters that appear in multiple episodes and story arcs. But of course we will continue to sprinkle the line with additional popular figures such as Aayla Secura in 2012.

From RebelScum 11/11/11

Quote:
Rebelscum: At NYCC, you said there would only be 19 figures from The Clone Wars. Did you mean 19 new ones, or 19 overall, or have we just been misinformed? Will we be seeing more mini-rigs and battle packs next year if this is the case?

Hasbro: There are 19 total single carded Clone Wars animated figures planned for 2012. There are also 4 Clone Wars themed "mini-rig" figure & vehicle packs and 1 Clone Wars themed Battle pack planned for 2012.

Only 19 figures? Shocked Confused Mad
At New York Comic Con they showed us 14 figures, 8 of which are re-releases from 2011 (in blue).
    Savage Oppress
    Mace Windu
    Cad Bane w/ TODO
    Yoda
    Plo Koon (cold weather)
    Aqua Droid
    Chewbacca
    Aayla Secura

    Anakin Skywalker (new sculpt)
    Clone Trooper (Phase 2)
    Clone Commander Cody (phase 2)
    Republic Commando Boss
    Obi-wan Kenobi (new sculpt?)
    Captain Rex (Phase 2)
That means there are only 5 more figures that they haven't shown us yet. This is very troubling...

That's a peculiar strategy, considering The Clone Wars is their biggest non-movie seller in the action figure aisle (and possibly biggest overall).

The Vintage Collection is currently averaging just under 4K figures per week at Target.

G.I. JOE is currently selling between 5,200 - 5,600 figures per week at Target. Two brand new waves of figures just hit, though, so that will drop substantially once people have had their fill of the recent releases. These cases were also packed with army builders. In the two months leading up to Target getting the new assortments, I'd be surprised if they were moving even half that number.

The Clone Wars is currently selling between 10K and 12K per week at Target.

I get that they want to focus on the 3D movie release, but I'm not sure kids will eat that up the way they do The Clone Wars. Keep in mind, though, that early 2013 assortments will likely start showing up around the 2012 holiday season. So even if only 19 are planned, more could hit stores in the calendar year. Plans change, too, so surprises could be announced at SDCC, CVI, or NYCC. It's still an unexpected announcement, though.

So, we're getting 55 TVC figures, and only 19 TCW figures? Dangerous and disturbing this puzzle is.
