Wow , I haven't been on here in awhile!
I was curious about the Luke Skywalker's TaunTaun... When are the TaunTauns supposed to hit the shelves???
I thought it said "on shelf" August.....?.... _________________ "Our story begins in a time long, long ago, deep in an enchanted forest, on the distant moon of Endor..."

Hasbro will use estimates to determine the street date for their products, but they don't have complete control. When I see those dates, I usually add some time. So, for the Taun Taun, I would guess that it will be August + 2 months. |

So, after years of getting really clean vehicles, why has Hasbro decided to put weathering on the landspeeder?

When they appear in stores is based entirely on when Target takes possession, gets them across the Pacific, and moves them from the DCs into the individual retail stores. When Hasbro said August, that just meant they were expecting Target to have them available shortly after their fall resets.

Quite right. I should have written it this way: "Hasbro will use estimates to determine the availablity of their products..."

That it does. But it would have looked equally awesome on a lot of earlier releases which lacked such weathering. I am just curious as to why they have changed their approach policy now. |

Thank you Kit and Caped Crusader!
I get to wait another 2 months
I am already frustrated with what I have been seeing at my local Target - the pegs are stocked ENTIRELY with the first wave of the Vintage Collection: Leia, Dengar, 4-Lom, you name it (I am not including the few traces of Clone Troopers and Sandtroopers here and there)
Oh well, more time to save up for the holiday season shopping _________________ "Our story begins in a time long, long ago, deep in an enchanted forest, on the distant moon of Endor..."

I am just curious as to why they have changed their approach policy now. | Well, remember that Hasbro shuffled their brand managers around for this year, and I believe Derryl DePriest is now over both STAR WARS and G.I. JOE. Since the STAR WARS team is under new (or at least reorganized) management, I'm sure he and Michelino Praolino will want to freshen things up a bit. We'll likely see more differences over the next couple of years.
Any vehicle used on Tatooine, on Dagobah, or in the Clone Wars shouldn't look like it just rolled off the assembly line. I love vehicles that look like they've seen action. In fact, I think the silver on the front and sides of the landspeeder should look more like the silver there at the back, but Hasbro isn't always keen on that kind of paint wash.
| Ewok_village wrote: | I get to wait another 2 months | I'd expect them in 2011, but I wouldn't get my hopes up for anything more specific than that. If Target has already taken possession, though, it's likely only a matter of weeks before they'll show up in stores. _________________

My guess is we'll see that wave sometime around March or April. |
