I bought this Luke figure off of eBay sometime last year strictly for the head. I wanted to perform a headswap with the VOTC Bespin Luke Skywalker figure from 2007. Since both figures share the same torso, it was an easy swap, and now my VOTC Luke Skywalker looks much better!!!
And ridge913, I think that you have the best policy in place: just buy two sets - one to open, and one to keep carded. |
Thanks Master Fisto! As far as the Luke I am so excited, I am actually pretty excited for all of these to arrive. I love the comic book styling that is applied to these figures, to me nothing is cooler than having the exact version of a character in figure form from retro looking comics.
The VOTC skywalker head sculpt is horrible. That was a fantastic idea.
ahh the VOTC, I bought this whole collection 24 figs MOC from a gentlemen in Ireland... these figures started it all for me...

From hasbro toy shop on sale for $7.99 each!:
And another one of these since the one that arrived today was not perfect. The blister bubble wasn't sealed center. So the actual blister ran all the way to the end of the right side of the card!

So I received my stuff from Hasbro today and I was very pleased that nothing came crushed this time from them. What I am upset about though is...
I want to open them!! But the five that I have thus far do look nice up on display together...
I really want to open especially:
Sharad Hett
Commander Faie
GENERAL WEIR(which I still have yet to receive)
but if i open these ones i open the other figure and comic that come with it!!! ahh so torn!!! |

Sorry about your plight. But it makes me happy that I am not afflicted by MOCness.

From HasbroToyShop:
-Star Wars Comic Packs: Star Wars #32 - Wedge Antilles and Borsk Fey’lya x2, one for opening (thinking ahead this time)
Star Wars Comic Packs: Star Wars #11 - Ki-Adi-Mundi and Sharad Hett
ahh when the new one arrives I will leave the nicer of the two packaged and I open the other one so I can have a loose Sharad Hett!
He really is a neat figure, with a very cool color scheme from clothes to the red used for the lightsaber; the character was a Jedi who ran away to live amongst the sand people... he is almost a protector of theirs... I am looking forward to reading the comic and really find out what this character is about!

My second copy specifically for opening purposes came yesterday and wow am I impressed with this Luke Skywalker:
Personally, I think he is a very awesome! variation of Luke, in which is highly articulate as well as extremely detailed. The figure resembles the comic cover artwork extremely well.. This is definitely a different side of Luke we usually see and is a an awesome addition to anyone who has a thing for unique Jedi, or just Luke himself. Even the blue used for his saber is spectacular, and a real eye grabber imo

Almost Master Fisto lol, I really am getting into these comics, and really am enjoying the expanded universe stories/ characters.
I am pretty much finished with acquiring anymore comic packs(for now). I do want to get another DELILAH BLUE & DARTH NIHL for opening purposes though. I am hoping to find the pack available from Hasbro direct for $7.99. For two figures and a comic, I think that is a steal and really does make me feel foolish when I pay the average $21-$22 per pack from most online stores.
What I did initially, with your advice always in my mind, I went here and chose my absolute favorites:
http://www.jedi-business.com/Star-Wars-Figures-From-Comic-Books.aspx
and after that the hunting began... these comic figures are becoming my favorite collection, the figures are very consistant with super articulation and detail versus some re packs an other re tools we often see in the clone wars, as well as vintage collections. I am thinking of selling my entire clone wars collection as a matter of fact... what do you think? |

So got some figures yesterday, I finally got to open Shared Hett, awesome figure, a highly articulated figure in an awesome color scheme.
But I wish I could say that about the other one that arrived, WEDGE ANTILLES & BORSK FEY'LYA comic pack is so BAD I could not believe it. I regret ordering two, and the second unopened copy will be dropped off at an ebay store shortly. At first I was like okay, these figures are okay, I didnt care too much for Antilles as much as for Borsk, but when it came to flipping through the comic, it was not the style star wars I liked to see and could not even get myself to read it. I will be probably selling the figures as well since they really are horrible.
But on the other hand Shared Hett is so awesome it made up for my dissapointment. (This comic is pretty awesome as well) |

From Ebay x2: (I KNOW I will not regret two of these)
I didn't find reviews of these figures on any site I usually go to, I eventually stumbled through it on Google leading me back to rebel-scum where I started... anyways look how awesome these figures are. And when you read the comic, they really are that much cooler!
A'SHARAD HETT & DARK WOMAN(Dark Horse Comics' STAR WARS)
