Q2: What has happened with Clone Wars Commander Jet? We have seen carded pictures of the rest of the figures in the wave, yet none of him. Also, the pre-orders online do not show him in the case assortment for Wave 5 or 6. Is he going to be delayed like the Cad Bane in Disguise was? Also regarding the CW line, My son LOVES the Clone Wars figures and new Galactic Battle Game for his growing collection, plus it's a way for us to enjoy Star Wars together as a family. He does have one complaint though. He wants the battle cards that come with many of the figures he already owns (Obi-Wan, Anakin, Count Dooku, Grievous, clones etc.) With budgets as tight as they are these days, is there any chance that you can make available via booster packs or online download (pdf) cards for figures we, and many collectors, already own? Helps us Hasbro, you're my son's only hope.

A2:We had production issues with Commander Jet, and he had to be bumped from the Fall waves. We're looking at slotting him back into the Spring at this point. As for the Galactic Battle Card Game, we're glad your son enjoys it. We talked about doing characters from previous waves, but deciced to just move forward since there is an almost neverending supply of characters from the past that we could do, and these cards actually take a big chunk of time to design. We're glad you guys are playing together as a family - that really gives us a smile knowing that we can help bring the generations of Star Wars fans together.

1) If Clone Wars is such a smash hit, is there a chance we'll see a better development of new figures next year? It seems like much of what we are seeing this year is existing sculpts with minor tweaks. IE Senate Guards, various Clone Troopers. Will Hasbro put more behind completely new figures for not only Clone Wars but Vintage?? In a nutshell, does ratings effect the resources Hasbro puts into a particular brand?

Ratings don't affect what we put into the figures, but sales do; more importantly, our understanding of what audience is actually buying the figures is a key factor in what we do. Clone Wars is a very successful line for us, and the vast majority of people buying it are kids. This, combined with the fact that there are fewer collectors engaged in Clone Wars than in Legacy (Vintage), means that we are focusing on major characters for Clone Wars and trimming back on the more obscure characters. We've found that kids don't value these tertiary characters, so there is a high risk of bottling up the line when they don't sell. Also, kids don't care about whether their figures are made with existing sculpts or not: they concentrate on the biggest characters. This helps us ensure that we put our focus where it makes the biggest different for collector, and that's Vintage. Vintage will have many more new figures than Clone Wars in 2011.

1) The recent episodes of Star Wars:The Clone Wars have provided some unique looking clone troopers. Is there any chance that we might see the rust colored troopers from Ryloth, their commander, or a red or yellow ARC Trooper within the next couple of years?

Clone Wars has been a fantastic source for some great clones, and in recent years we have had an abundant variety from which to draw. Lately, it's been swamping our ability to be able to get them all out, but between basic figures, Figure & Vehicle Packs, Battle Packs, and exclusives, we are game to try. Look for the Ryloth-inspired Clones sometime in '12, with additional figures like ARC Troopers later in the year as well.

2) Jedi Master Di, who briefly appeared (and disappeared) in the Clone Wars episode Supply Lines, was a really interesting looking Jedi, as well as a good fighter. While he was only a one-episode character, is there any chance that we may see him released as a toy? Perhaps a mail away like Nadhar Vebb?

We have no plans at the moment for Jedi Master Di. We have very few slots for the one-episode type of characters. Due to lower response compared to the Vintage or Saga-focused mail-ins, it's unlikely that we'll be doing any more Clone Wars-focused mail-ins.

Recently you have told another Website that a Republic Commando pack would imdeed be coming out. Then at Celebration V we seen none other than RC-1138 and the boys in several videos. So my question is this; how far in advance does Hasbro get told by the Clone Wars Producers of characters to produce? and is there any sneaky little numbers waiting in the wings?

Unfortunately, our schedules are much farther out than that of the Clone Wars productions team. It usually takes 12-18 months to produce figures and vehicles, and while the Clone Wars team usually knows the stories it will be telling more than a year in advance, we aren't usually able to get final, locked-down artwork until much later. As a result, we are usually a good six months out from the debut of a show and the time we can get anything out to take advantage of a new character. There are rare exceptions of course, and we can usually get refreshed characters (i.e. Sgt. Bric) out on a shorter time frame. The less complicated a figure is, it improves the chances of getting out quicker, like Galactic Heroes vs. a more complicated 3-3/4" figure.

Galactic Hunter: Our Features Editor (ahem) spoke to the Line Lead for The Clone Wars at Celebration V, and there was some difficulty in working Duchess Satine into the line. Now that she's had several appearances in, frankly, powerful episodes, is there room for a refined lady in a gown? (The skirt can be "break-away" as a compromise - just make sure she has something on underneath, of course!)

HASBRO: There are no plans for a Satine figure in the line. Aside from Ahsoka, kids just don't respond to female figures all that well. With kids being the vast majority of the Clone Wars audience, we don't have the luxury of a lot of collector-targeted figures in the line.

1. Now that there’s a new Clone Trooper body, are we likely to see previously-released named clones like Echo and Fives remade, or can we assume that what we’ve got are the only figures they’ll be getting?

Unless Echo and Fives show up in future episodes, it’s unlikely we’ll be doing any more figures of them.

2. Now that he’s showing up in the TV series again, have the chances of a Ziro the Hutt toy gone up?

We still don’t have a Ziro figure in the lineup. If last Friday’s show, when Ziro was apparently killed, is really his last hurrah then the chances of ever seeing a Ziro figure are the opposite of his considerable girth. In other words, slim.

Based on the season 3 trailer, it appears that the Blurrg beasts will see more action in the Clone Wars series. Can you produce a toy based on these creatures for the deluxe line? The deluxe line is almost entirely made up of small vehicles, when collectors and kids alike would also enjoy seeing small beasts, it helps make the line more diverse and keeps us interested.

We are open to doing more beasts for the line, and we have looked at the Blurrg. It helps that Clones actually ride them, but it doesn't help that their form is a little funky and the fact that beasts just don't sell as well as vehicles on a per-character basis. Still, the Blurrg is in the mix for consideration and could crack the lineup some day, especially if the Clone Wars team continues to use it.

Wow, this was a disappointing round of Q&As. All we heard about are the things Hasbro does not plan on doing with The Clone Wars line.

QUESTION: Will we ever see a re-issue of the Clone Wars Threepio and Artoo figures – either on card or in a set?

ANSWER: The Clone Wars R2-D2 is still in rotation, so it will be back out again. There are no plans to re-release C-3PO at this time.

QUESTION: Who now holds the “probably never will make as a figure” slot on the Clone Wars line-up? Jocasta Nu or Clone Number 99? Or both?

ANSWER: Right now both are in that tier. Jocasta would stand the higher chance though.

QUESTION: Since an image of Sergeant Bric was revealed on JediNews.ca back in July, months before his first appearance on the opening episode of Season 3, you obviously had seen visuals well in advance to give you sufficient time to make him ready for the redemption scheme. With that in mind, what other likely candidates from this episode (chief among them being Domino squad as cadets) might we expect in the near future?

ANSWER: By now, word has leaked out. We will be doing Hevy in training gear in basic figures in Wave 1 '11. We don't have a place for any of the other characters in the lineup and there are no plans to do more. There is likely to be a Battle Pack in Fall '11 with some of the other characters (non-Domino Squad) in the episode. Stay tuned.

QUESTION: Ziro the Hutt has been long-rumored to be released as a figure since the Clone Wars movie came out in 2008. In previous Q&A's, it's been said that Hasbro was trying to find a retailer to take Ziro as an exclusive, and later on said that Ziro could potentially end up as a mailaway promotion. With Ziro returning in Season 3 of Clone Wars, desire for this character is high, as he is probably the most important Clone Wars character not to be immortalized in plastic. Can you share any news with us on the status of this pivotal character?

ANSWER: Plans to have Ziro as a mail-in fizzled when we prioritized the Galactic Battle Game mail-in promotion. We did not slot him back into the lineup, and he remains in limbo. He is not a figure that kids have shown a lot of affinity toward, and we don't think collector enthusiasm alone is enough to get the job done for Ziro.

QUESTION: By now, Clone Wars Season 3 has started and you are well on your way in creating product based on these first few episodes. Can we expect to receive the Domino Squad (Echo, Fives, Droidbait, Hevy and Cutup) in their green training armor from the season premiere maybe as a special battle pack or as separate releases? Also regarding that first episode, will we be receiving an accurate version of Commander Colt (the red ARC Trooper) next year as the one from the ARC Troopers Battle Pack doesn't quite fit the bill since he's missing his distinctive gray skull helmet deco.

ANSWER: By now, word has leaked out. We will be doing Hevy in training gear in basic figures in Wave 1 '11. We don't have a place for any of the other characters in the lineup and no plans to do more. There is likely to be a Battle Pack in Fall '11 with some of the other characters (non-Domino Squad) in the episode...and Commander Colt will be available as a basic figure. It's important to note that the ARC Troopers Battle Pack (on shelves now) was based on the ARC Trooper concept art we originally received from Lucasfilm. It's not that we forgot to put the skull deco on the red ARC, but it hadn't been developed yet. Stay tuned.

QUESTION: Is the Clone Wars Bossk coming with the Slave 1 going to be released as a single at some point?

ANSWER: There are no plans right now, but if he does, it won’t be for at least a year.

QUESTION: The Clone Wars versions of Aayla Secura and Hondo Ohnaka seemed to get a very limited release earlier in 2010... usually just one case per store based on all the reports I’ve read. Personally, I never saw them anywhere. And I wanted that damned Aayla! So I was curious if you guys plan to include those figures in any future assortments, or if I should begin harvesting my redundant organs for the funds required to score Aayla on the secondary market.

ANSWER: There are no plans to release these figures right now, but we have heard the demand loud and clear from fans and will be looking for ways to get them back into the lineup. It may not be for a long while, but hang in there.
