What exactly is this line?!? What can it be compared to? What makes it different, and who does it target? Any info helps I am still debating to pick up any of these, worth it? Or wait for enhanced vintage line versions... like of Yoda for example...

This is the new version of Saga Legends. It mainly consists of straight repacks, some of which are about ten years old. And just like the Saga Legends line, this line of toys is geared toward kids, not collectors. I am going to pass on all of them except new sculpts, which won't appear in the line until the second wave.

There is a red variant of the battle droid! Has anyone else come across them? I am looking to build a battle droid army(red variant) and am not sure on which sculpt to use... I most likely will just wait for a repaint of the newly released VC battle droid but does anyone know about this varaint?!?

The figure in the picture is wrong. If you look on the pegs, you will see that they packaged the correct Shock Trooper for that wave.
