Yodasnews.com reader Mike reports in: Hi. Mike again from Alabama. More news on new Star Wars items at my Target. I went into my local Target yesterday and punched in DPCI codes on the scanner for "The demise of Grievous" figure and "Skirmish in the SEnate pack" Bothe said they were in stock in the store room. Then I asked one of the salespeople to get me 2 of the Grievous and one of the other. She said no problem, ran in the back and came out with them. They hadn't even put these out yet. I noticed a lot of times if you ask them if they have anything in the back they just say no. So check the codes yourself then they can't dispute it. I figure alls fair in collecting.

The Darth Vader Helmets are expected to arrive at the factory in May where necessary modifications will begin immediately. Based on the delay in returning the product to the factory, we expect to begin shipping replacement units to customers in August. Yodasnews.com reader John reports in: Today, I found the VOTC figures at the local Wal-Mart I work for. They had a fair amount of each figure, just sitting on the shelf. Sadly, it's not a pay week, happily, though, there is layaway! I picked up one each of Luke, Han, Greedo and the Scout Trooper. I snagged 2 of the Tusken Raiders for some reason. I think it's because they have had fairly shoddy figures in the past...

From Jim at StandTall: Jim here from Stand Tall Display Systems……that’s my fancy name for a guy in his den who only has one product to sell but tries to sound important. I have to say that the 501st Trooper is a great nod to the rabid fans who go the extra mile and “live” in a galaxy far, far away. I’ve never been a guy who dresses up at Conventions or Renaissance Fairs, but it just wouldn’t be the same without the super fans who define the stereo-type of Sci-Fi Nerds. It may sound like I’m putting down my more enthusiastic fellow fans…but at this point in my life to be defined as a Sci-Fi Geek is a compliment.
It’s my own dorky way of living on the fringes of society. So to all you 501st Members out there…enjoy your figure…you deserve it. To have a corporate entity such as Hasbro acknowledge your existence is a feat that should not be taken lightly. I’m not even sure if I should try to purchase one for my collection because I don’t feel I earned it. My first thought was that the text over the emblem said “Vaders Legion” and I thought that was about the most idiotic and juvenile tag line that could possibly grace a Star Wars figure…..Since then I’ve come to realize that it probably says 501st Legion….and for some reason this made everything alright. So for now I think we can all sleep well because it’s obvious that Hasbro knows there are plenty of adult collectors with money. This is a good omen for the future of our hobby.
We’ll have plenty of more figures in the coming years to hug and love….and once you get done playing with your toys feel free to place them on a Stand Tall Display System that you design yourself (shameless subliminal product plug)!and dont forget to read our review right here!
Yodasnews.com reader Paul reports in: I was in New York City yesterday for the New York International Auto Show at the Jacob Javits Convention Center. We figured we’d walk upto Times Square to get a bite to eat. When we left there, I knew that the Times Square Toys R’ Us was right around the corner. So, we walked in & I was pretty much totally convinced that I wouldn’t find “anything good” when I looked around in the section that they keep the Star Wars stuff. Then, as I came around the one corner, dead in front of me is sitting probably 12 to 20 pegs FULL of the new VOTC series 2 figures!! I was in SHOCK!! So, I started looking through the pegs. I hadn’t noticed any Luke X-wing pilots at first because they were hidden in the back. As I kept looking, I found every figure EXCEPT the Biker Scout. So, I had to settle on 4 of the 5 new figures. I’ll just have to keep looking for the Biker Scout, so that I can mail-in for my George Stormtrooper figure. Anyway, I thought I share my images of the figures I found along with the cool bag they gave me the figures in. Finding the figures was just the cherry on top of a fun day in NYC.

Our TRU Insider reports in: Just a heads up. I just looked into the TRU computer last night at the Gunship and the warehouse for our store shows recieving pending(which means within a couple of days it will be in stock in the DC). So it looks like the end of April first of May for the ship to hit the store level. I will update when I see action from the DC to the stores.
StarWarsShop.com has has confirmed that the San Diego Comic Con logo on the side of the Shadow Stormtrooper will NOT be on the final product. The image shown was of a prototype. They are still up for pre-order with a limit of 5 per person, set to ship on August 1st. Click here to order!

According to Master Replicas, the Special Ops, Shock Troop, and Clone Trooper helmets that were placed on shipping hold in order to be fully inspected by an independent third party for potential quality issues did not pass inspection. They have decided that the remaining inventory of Special Ops, Shock Troop, and Clone Trooper helmets are not sellable. Because of their condition, they are making all new units. There is no timeline or production scheulde yet on these new units.
On a related note, people who pre-ordered the Qui-Gon Jinn LE lightsaber from Master Replicas have started recieving their pre-shippment notices, stating the item will ship the week of May 3rd.
Yodasnews.com regular and forum moderator Obi Juan needs your prayers for his brother. In February, 2005, he found out that his brother, who is a police officer in Utah, had developed cancer as a result of exposure to numerous methamphetamine labs. He was once a DEA Metro Detective, and had to go into these labs on a daily basis during his years on the force. In March of 2006, he had a pretty bad complication, and was in the hospital for a few weeks. The outlook thus far is not good, but no one is giving up yet! She goes in the back, comes out with one case and says "this is the only thing I can find" We open it up and lo and behold it's a case of figures for the mail in Lucas Stormtrooper figure. Included were Luke x-wing pilot, Han in trenchcoat, Greedo, a Sandperson and a Biker scout. The were 2 each in the case. I grabbed 1 each and thanked her. So start talking with your Target employees. It pays off.
Bouncing around message boards and fan site inboxes yesterday is the below image of what appears to be a 501st Exclusive Figure that will be sold at San Diego Comic Con for $15 at the Hasbro booth! Yodasnews.com reader Kyle reports in: I just went to Walmart today and could not find new figs on the regular aisle. After doing some shopping I saw the clearance aisle and went to see what might be there. To my surprise I found the card board display box (3 of them) that had the figs I was looking for. There was the ep. III wave and a few ultimate hunt figures with the silver stands and holo's...all damaged Obi's and Ani's. I left those but got a Cody, Foul, Firefighter, and holo Ki. It seems these displays weren't fitting to the regular aisle, so they just put them anywhere...so look around!

Sideshow's website just revealed the first images of the upcoming San Diego Comic-Con exclusive, Darth Vader Sith Apprentice. This exclusive comes with Sith eyes and a lava droid base. Comic-Con attendees can pre-order their figure on Thursday 04/27/06 to pick up the figure at the convention. Non-attendees will get their shot the following day on 04/28/06. Get all the details here!
Master Replicas announced today the first two items in their new line of 0.33 scale blasters; Han Solo's blaster and the Stormtrooper blaster! DarthJoe in our forums posted this today: I had a preorder in at Amazon/TRU.com for the gunship and the clone pack (at least I hope the defense of the senate set is the clone 5-pack.) I noticed they are doing buy 2 get 1 free so I redid the order. I ordered one gunship and two of the defense sets and when you put in the coupon code (TYRTTFREESWA) you get one of the defense sets for free. Yes, that is a $25 item for free. The best part is that it only increased my shipping cost by $0.85 more than the old order I had. I know this bumped me back in line a bit since my old preorder was a couple of months old but I think it was worth the chance. Discuss this here!

From writing to storyboarding to CGI to film and all that has to do with it. An organization by SW fans for SW fans!! A way to come up and not need noone but ourselves to make it happen. If we took all the talent that is in the group of people that will read this letter and put it together in a serious way your talking American Zoetrope to the tenth power. Your talking about possibly the next wave of great filmmakers. A way for me to give back.
If I don't win this contest I want everyone who reads this to know how I feel about everything that has been going on around us in the SW society as an extremely concerned fan. I think that everyone I have ever met at the conventions and the midnight showings and the Weekends at Disney have been the greatest, greatest group of people this world has to offer, and I am so greateful that I'm a part of it.

I waltzed into the Star Wars section of my local Target on Saturday and absently mindedly browsed through the standard figures on the shelves. I have been intently working on trying to win this election and have come to the conclusion that I can't win this with just friends and family...I'm going to need the help of the millions of fans Star Wars has adopted for itself to win this contest!
I propose that if I become president I begin an organization where people from all over the planet can submit their artworks (not just SW stuff) and gain the assistance of people in the entertainment industry. From writing to storyboarding to CGI to film and all that has to do with it. An organization by SW fans for SW fans!! A way to come up and not need noone but ourselves to make it happen. If we took all the talent that is in the group of people that will read this letter and put it together in a serious way your talking American Zoetrope to the tenth power. Your talking about possibly the next wave of great filmmakers. A way for me to give back.
If I don't win this contest I want everyone who reads this to know how I feel about everything that has been going on around us in the SW society as an extremely concerned fan. I think that everyone I have ever met at the conventions and the midnight showings and the Weekends at Disney have been the greatest, greatest group of people this world has to offer, and I am so greateful that I'm a part of it.

I waltzed into the Star Wars section of my local Target on Saturday and absently mindedly browsed through the standard figures on the shelves. Of course they had a bunch of “Cliff Clavin” figures and a couple Han Carbonite figures but I’ve “been there, done that” if you know what I mean. Our Bothan Spy reports some breaking news that in late June, the second wave of Greatest Hits figuires will be released. So far nine have been confirmed, all repacks from the ROTS line, and will include the 501st Clone Trooper, AT-TE Gunner, C-3PO, Count Dooku, Blue Royal Guard, Padme, R4-G9, Kit Fisto, and the Preview Wookie Warrior! Most of them were hard to find, so these will be welcome additions to many collections.
**Update! We have confirmed that these will be the only 9 in this wave with the 501st being 2 per case, the AT-TE being 2 per case and the C-3PO being 2 per case, the rest will be 1 per case and make up the 12 total!

Blister1.jp is reporting that Gentle Giant will be releasing a Blackhole Stormtrooper exclusive and a chrome Darth Vader statue with light-up lightsaber. Both of these will be exclusive to Blister1.jp and the edition sizes are of 1500 (500 in Japan and 1000 worldwide) and 2500 (1000 in Japan and 1500 worldwide) for each piece respectively.
