New Report 9-06-04, Issue #7 – Gentle Giant Bossk MiniBust

Welcome to another issue of The Durge Report! Summer has been great, especially for collectors! Hasbro brought us the Vintage Original Trilogy Collection, Master Replicas brought us more .45 scale lightsabers, and Gentle Giant Studios brought us two new minibusts!

Sculpt Gentle Giant scanned the original costume, so this is the closest you'll get to the real thing. The details on the bust are perfect. From the head to the arms, you can tell that a lot of work was put into perfecting this bust. All of the details of his uniform have been captured as well. From the metal part on his chest to the tools in his belt, everything is exactly as seen in The Empire Strikes Back.

Paint As you can see from the photos, each wrinkle in Bossk’s skin has paint details. My favorite part of the bust is the arms. Gentle Giant’s extraordinary attention to detail is perfectly showcased in that area. The uniform has also been painted extremely well, matching the original down to the logo on the arm.

Value As with every Gentle Giant bust, Bossk retails for around 50 dollars. Most online stores sell them for a reasonable 39-45 dollars. In my opinion, Bossk is worth every penny. He is the best representation of the character to date, and unless Gentle Giant produces a full scale version, this is probably the best we will get.

Overall The bust is beautiful and at 45 dollars he was an excellent deal. I would recommend him to all collectors of fine Star Wars merchandise. If you have not yet got on the Gentle Giant bandwagon, now is the time to hop on board. There as some great pieces planned and, trust me, you won’t want to miss them!
