I took a long ride today to a TRU that I normaly dont go to and it was littered with VOTC. They had the first 6 figs (Vader, Yoda, Luke, Leia, Ben, Han), and plenty to go around. They also had all of ther 12" VOTC Line, 4 to5 each. So be sure to check out TRU this weekend!

Art by Aaron McBride Among the first steps in creating new installments of the Star Wars saga is the exploration undertaken by the Art Department, a tight-knit group of concept artists whose task is to define George Lucas' descriptions of another galaxy into film reality. Their efforts have created several galleries-worth of breathtaking artwork, only a fraction of which ever sees publication.
Dark Horse Comics and the concept artists behind Episode III are teaming to produce a Star Wars graphic novel like no other. Star Wars: Visionaries is a collection of 12 exciting tales told by the artists that helped envision the worlds, creatures, technologies and characters of Revenge of the Sith. This new book features the art of Robert Barnes, Ryan Church, Warren Fu, Alex Jaeger, Sang Jung Lee, Stephan Martiniere, Aaron McBride, Iain McCaig, Michael Murnane, Erik Tiemens, Derek Thompson, and Feng Zhu, and is edited by Jeremy Barlow.
These new stories -- some within continuity, some most definitely not -- will showcase new designs from the artists most responsible for the dazzling imagery in Revenge of the Sith. Topps Star Wars Heritage Artist Sketch Cards!
This September, Topps will publish an exciting new card series that encompasses all six Star Wars movies, including a sneak peek at the forthcoming final film, Star Wars: Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. Aptly titled Star Wars Heritage, the series is timed to coincide with the eagerly awaited Star Wars Trilogy DVD release.
Special insert cards will also be included with the Heritage series. Collectors can look forward to a new assortment of randomly packed artist sketch cards. Original art sketch cards, seen recently in the Star Wars: Clone Wars card set, proved enormously appealing to passionate art enthusiasts and card collectors.

Life after OTC!
The Official Site confirms Hasbro's plans for products after the OTC line ends with #38 (not including the StarWarsShop.com exclusive Holographic Emperor.) Included iin the announcement come the first look at the upcoming Unleashed IG-88. The new 3.75" figures are: "Sly Moore, Wookiee Senator Yarua, Pablo Jill, Padmé Amidala in ceremony dress, handmaiden Rabe, and Mos Eisley cantina aliens Feltipern Trevagg , Myo and Dannik Jerriko. Naturally, there will be a wave of Episode III preview figures" There is also confirmation of wave three for the animated Clone Wars figures. Wave 3 will include Anakin, Grl. Grievous, and ARC Trooper. As if that weren't enough, the Galactic Heroes line keeps expanding with "Jedi Luke Skywalker (Return of the Jedi) with Gamorrean Guard, Lando Calrissian in skiff guard disguise with Nikto skiff guard, and a Tusken Raider with Jawa. Based on the Playskool X-wing, a new electronic Galactic Heroes X-wing"

TAKARA BT-05 - The next installment in the Binaltech lineup is the BT-05 Dead End, the first Decepticon of the series. This figure is a black Dodge Viper and has many upgraded features from the BT-02 Sideswipe - its not just another plain repaint. Upgraded featurs include: Full roof and rear glass instead of convertible top, rear spoiler, new rims, updated hood, new rear end panels, and trim along the bottom of the entire car body - Dead End definitely has an 'Evil Decepticon' look to him!
TAKARA ROBOTMASTERS - The #01 through #10 RobotMasters figures have arrived - this line is packaged in very attractive packaging and overall is very impressive. Gentle Giant would like to give you a quick update live from San Diego Comic-Con. Hopefully, you have seen our 6 foot tall Boba Fett “maxi-bust”, our 3 foot tall Clone Wars Yoda maquette, or our newly debuted Han Solo in Stormtrooper Disguise mini bust. For the moment, we would like to inform you about what is going on with the distribution of our exclusive product the Luke Skywalker in Stormtrooper Disguise mini bust and Spirit of the Rebellion Bust-Ups 4-pack. As was originally posted several months ago, our intention was to sell these products on a first-come, first-serve basis. Unfortunately, Comic-Con officials have instituted a policy that forbids this type of sale on exclusive product and, for the safety of attendees and exhibitors alike, have mandated a raffle system.
Details regarding the raffle system will be posted at Gentle Giants booth (2813H, in the Star Wars Pavilion) during the show. Raffle tickets will be handed out, free-of-charge, at the start of the show, and a drawing will be held in the afternoon for winning tickets. Winning ticket holders will be able to redeem their tickets for purchase of the appropriate exclusive. Unique tickets will be handed out for each exclusive. Additional measures will remain in effect, such as badge punching and 1 per person limit.
Regarding distribution of the exclusives at Wizard World Chicago and to our Collectors Club through our online store, all previous announcements are still in effect at this time, but are subject to change per the whim of show management.

Secrets of The Jedi Revealed!
The Official Site announces a new hardcover novel by Scholastic, Inc.. Written by Jude Watson and set for release in March 2005, Secrets of the Jedi tells the story of how Obi-Wan Kenobi resisted his feeling towards a fellow padawan when he was young. Years later Obi-Wan, his padawan Anakin who is secretly married to Padme Amidala, and that same padawan Obi-Wan had feeling for are in a mission together. Get all the details here.

Del Rey Leads On To Episode III!
The official site announces a new book by Del Rey. The hardcover, written by James Luceno, titled Labyrinth of Evil is set for release on January 25. The book features Anakin Skywalker's first mission as a Jedi Knight. Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker are following leads to the whereabouts of Darth Sidious. The book is supposed to star off where the next Clone Wars episodes will end, and will lead readers straight into Episode III. Read all the details here!

The official site announces that the Clone Wars stories will spill over to the daily comic strip format. There will also be more comic strips like reprints of the original comic strips in the tradition of Archie Goodwin's 1980 daily strip adaptation of Brian Daley's 1979 novel, Han Solo at Stars' End. The Clone Wars animated series was nominated for an Emmy, in the category of Outstanding Animated Program. The series produced by Cartoon Network shares the nominations with The Powerpuff Girls and Twas The Night Before Christmas, all from the same network. The Emmys will be held September 19.

An essential character from Hasbro's Original Trilogy Collection will be available exclusively through StarWarsShop.com. The mastermind of the dark plot that consumes the galaxy, Emperor Palpatine is presented as seen in Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back as an action figure for the very first time.
The ghastly visage of the twisted Emperor peers from beneath his heavy cowl as he contacts Darth Vader via hologram to inform him of a new threat. The Rebel that destroyed the Death Star is none other than the offspring of Anakin Skywalker. From this fateful communiqué, the Sith Lords concoct a new insidious scheme - they will corrupt Luke, and bring him to the dark side.
This new rendition of Emperor Palpatine is now cast in translucent plastic to simulate the ghostly hologram effect. Though only the upper body of the Emperor is seen during this broadcast, the entire figure has been molded, complete with a removable cane accessory to properly depict the character made famous by Ian McDiarmid.
The figure comes in Original Trilogy Collection packaging, with the black and silver Star Wars logo rendered in a style reminiscent of the original Kenner figures. The Emperor: Executor Transmission will be available worldwide only through StarWarsShop.com.
The figure is expected to ship in October 2004, in celebration of the Star Wars Trilogy DVD. As previously reported, this September, Topps will publish an exciting new card series that encompasses all six Star Wars movies, including a sneak peek at the forthcoming final film, Star Wars: Episode III. Aptly titled Star Wars Heritage, the series is timed to coincide with the eagerly awaited Star Wars Trilogy DVD release.
Special insert cards will also be included with the Heritage series. Collectors can look forward to a new assortment of randomly packed artist sketch cards. Original art sketch cards, seen recently in the Star Wars: Clone Wars card set, proved enormously appealing to passionate art enthusiasts and card collectors.

The Science and Art of Star Wars exhibition opened on March 20 at the prestigious National Science Museum in Tokyo. A crowd of more than 350 fans lined up on a rainy opening day. This exhibition brings with it 500 objects from the Lucasfilm Archives -- making it the largest exhibition in Star Wars history. It includes artwork, maquettes, models, props and costumes from all five of the Star Wars films.
The special reception held on March 19 included a welcome by the Museum's Director and by Japan's Minister of Culture. Close to 500 special VIP guests were invited to this reception and turned out in record numbers. Museum officials also commented that attendance at the press event on March 19 garnered the largest turnout they have had to date, with as many as 70 members of the electronic media on hand, in addition to the print press.
Actor Anthony Daniels (C-3PO) and Animation Director Rob Coleman of Industrial Light & Magic were also in attendance.
The opening three days of the exhibition saw over 10,000 guests pass through the new galleries at the museum in Ueno Park. This exhibition was organized by the Siebold Stichting Foundation in conjunction with Lucasfilm Ltd. A version of the exhibition will continue to tour Japan throughout 2004.

Edition line from Hasbro. It's the classic sandtrooper from A New Hope, done with a silvery finish
Comic-Con runs from July 22-25 this year, and Star Wars will have a huge presence. You can take home some of that excitement in the form of the convention exclusive figure, available while supplies last. The figure will be available at the massive Star Wars pavilion of booths on the convention floor. There's a maximum of two figures per person -- convention badges will be punched with each purchase to ensure this limit.
Each silver sandtrooper is priced at $10, plus applicable local taxes. The figure will be doled out over the length of the convention, so each day, everyone has a chance to get one. A number of these figures will be set aside for future events, and for sale on StarWarsShop.com.

The new logo for Star Wars Celebration III harkens back to the patch that was originally designed for the cast and crew of The Empire Strikes Back. "Vader in Flames," as the design was called, was later modified and made available to members of the Official Star Wars Fan Club. As the emblem of Celebration III, the image speaks to the enduring nature of the Star Wars saga.
It seems like a long wait until Star Wars Celebration III opens its doors at the Indiana Convention Center April 21 - 24, 2005, but it's not too early to start anticipating what looks to be the biggest Star Wars fan event to date.

Clone Trooper Variation!
The Official Site has updated their entries in the
Cargo Bay area, and one of those updates is a variation for the Unleashed
Clone Trooper. The figure is exactly the same as the one that was
released earlier this year, but it sports the red stripe on the armor.

Gentle Giant Studios and Dark Horse Comics continue to team up to make available amazingly realistic busts of your favorite Star Wars characters.
The next two are from the original Star Wars trilogy, and will be available later this year around the time of the Star Wars trilogy release on DVD.
The Deluxe Clone Trooper developed by Gentle Giant proved to be one of their most popular items, due to the modular accessories that allowed the bust to achieve a variety of poses. This same design will be applied to their forthcoming Classic Star Wars Stormtrooper mini-bust.
This stormtrooper comes with the following accessories, allowing for a wide range of possible poses:
Right arm pointing forward
Right arm pointing up
Left arm cradling gun
Left arm with hand on waist
Right hand with blaster
Right hand with rifle
Right hand cradling blaster
The Classic Star Wars Stormtrooper mini-bust is due out on August 25.
The next bust captures the classic hero of the Star Wars saga, X-Wing Pilot Luke Skywalker. Though the artisans at Gentle Giant Studios are known for their expert use of laser scanning technology, they have returned to their traditional sculpting and painting skills to recreate Luke Skywalker from the original saga.
This mini-bust is 6 ¼" high, pre-painted in deluxe full-color packaging. It is scheduled for release on September 22.
Gentle Giant has not yet determined the edition size of these busts. Dark Horse Comics distributes these mini-busts. For more information about these and other busts, visit their official website here.

The circle will at last be complete when Star Wars: Episode III is released to theaters in the United States and Canada, with a near-simultaneous release around the world, on Thursday, May 19, 2005. In Japan, Episode III will be released in July, the traditional month for Star Wars premieres.
Exact information for other countries outside of the U.S. and Canada will be coming shortly, so keep checking starwars.com for full details as May 2005 approaches.
In North America, May has been the traditional release date for Star Wars films since the first movie in 1977. The North American release dates for the previous films in the Star Wars saga are:

The circle will at last be complete when Star Wars: Episode III is released to theaters in the United States and Canada, with a near-simultaneous release around the world, on Thursday, May 19, 2005. In Japan, Episode III will be released in July, the traditional month for Star Wars premieres.
Exact information for other countries outside of the U.S. and Canada will be coming shortly, so keep checking starwars.com for full details as May 2005 approaches.
In North America, May has been the traditional release date for Star Wars films since the first movie in 1977. The North American release dates for the previous films in the Star Wars saga are:

The Pulitzers of interactive entertainment, the Choice Awards are the premier accolades for peer-recognition in game development, celebrating creativity, artistry and technological genius.
